Cast: Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H.G. Dattatreya, Vikram Gokhale and Sonakshi Sinha
Director: Jagan Shakti
Mission Mangal is the story of a group of scientists involved in ISRO’s Mars Orbiter Mission. The movie follows Mission Director Rakesh Dhawan (Akshay Kumar) and his teammate Tara Shinde (Vidya Balan.) One of Rakesh’s missions fails because of an error by Tara. The duo are then assigned India’s Mars mission, which is not expected to take off anytime soon. Rakesh and Tara soon realise, through innovative ideas, they can send a satellite to Mars in just 2 years. The ideas are ridiculed by their superiors and the duo are given a team of inexperienced and new scientists to carry out their plan. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
The true star of the movie is Vidya Balan, who, along with Akhsay Kumar, gives a powerful performance. However, Taapsee Pannu’s fans will be disappointed as the talented actress takes a back seat in the movie, along with Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari, who are not given enough material with which they can work. Sharman Joshi delivers hilarious punchlines, which lighten some intense scenes in the movie.
Jagan Shakti’s direction is quite superb and Shakti tries hard to strike a balance between showing the personal and professional life of each character. However, the oversimplification of scientific procedures using fried puri and cricket metaphors falls flat on some occasions. The visual effects in the movie are quite good and the background music composed by Amit Trivedi and Tanishk Bagchi is excellent.
Despite the little flaws, Mission Mangal is an entertaining movie which will wake your inner patriotism.

Chhichhore Movie Review
Cast: Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Prateik Babbar, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Naveen Polishetty
Director: Nitesh Tiwari
Chhichhore is the story of a group of friends considered losers by others and their journey after college. After the son of two of their friends try to take his own life, the group reunites and goes on a trip, reminiscing their college life.
Chhichhore is a comedy drama which will make every adult nostalgic and take them back to their college days. The movie begins with a high note and manages to keep its audiences captivated from the beginning till the end. Nitesh Tiwari’s direction in the movie is fabulous. From introducing every character in the movie, to keeping the past and present storyline in sync, Tiwari’s direction is praiseworthy. The screenplay, which also written by Nitesh Tiwari along with Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Malhotra, is quite entertaining and full of nostalgia.
Another great thing about the movie is the performance by the actors. The leads of the movie, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sharddha Kapoor, put up convincing performances as college sweethearts and make us fall in love with their characters. Apart from Rajput and Kapoor, the other actors also get a chance to shine. Each and every actor in the movie delivers a memorable performance, with Varun Sharma delivering some of the most hilarious dialogues of the movie.
Chhichhore is a perfect homage to college life and delivers a great message regarding exam pressure.
With great direction, incredible performances and an amazing storyline, Chhichhore will be a great weekend watch for everyone.

Saaho Movie Review
Cast: Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma, Arun Vijay, Prakash Belavadi, Evelyn Sharma Supreeth, Chunky Panday, Lal, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar and Tinnu Anand
It is not easy to discuss the plot of Saaho without giving away some major spoilers. The movie follows an undercover cop Ashok (Prabhas,) also known as Saaho, with a dark past, working on a robbery case which leads him to the fictional city of Waaji. Saaho is joined by a Mumbai Crime Branch officer, Amritha Nair (Shraddha Kapoor) and both of them eventually fall for each other. Together, they fight many villains and in the process, try to solve the case they are assigned. The plot may seem simple, but what makes Saaho interesting is the twists and turns in the storyline and an unexpected climax.
Saaho captures its audience’s attention right from the start with some impressive action scenes. Prabhas as Saaho is the life of the movie. With his incredible acting and charm, Prabhas breathes life into the character. The same can be said about Shraddha Kapoor, who was given adequate screen time and did an incredible job. The villains of the movie also perform well, but Chunkey Panday’s evil character stands out among others, thanks to Panday’s convincing portrayal. Mandira Bedi as the saree clad Kalki also won our hearts.
The budget of the movie was Rs. 350 crores, half of which was spent on action sequences. The movie’s high octane fight sequences are proof the makers made the right choices. Sujeeth’s direction makes the movie more interesting. Coupled with Ghibran’s background score, Saaho is a true masterpiece.
With such an incredible cast and brilliant direction, Saaho truly is the biggest Indian film of the year.

Dear Comrade Movie Review
Cast: Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna, V. Jaya Prakash, Brahmji and Charu Haasan
Director: Bharat Kamma
Dear Comrade is the story of Chaithanya, also known as Bobby (Vijay Deverakonda,) a hot tempered student leader at a Kakinada college. Bobby falls in love with Lilly (Rashmika Mandanna,) a state level cricket player and Bobby’s childhood friend. Their relationship is plagued by various misunderstandings and Lilly’s disapproval of Bobby’s reckless and aggressive behaviour, which leads to their breakup. Bobby again meets Lilly three years later and finds her in an unexpected and difficult situation. The rest of the movie is about how Bobby becomes Lilly’s ‘comrade’ and helps her overcome this difficult situation.
Dear Comrade is a typical love story, but what makes the movie great is Deverakonda’s and Mandanna’s performance. Deverakonda’s ability to express his anger as Bobby is effortless, which makes his performance that much amazing. However, it is Rashmika Mandanna who steals the show. Mandanna’s portrayal of a bubbly girl in the first half and a vulnerable and completely broken girl in the second half is quite interesting to watch. Moreover, the chemistry between the two leads is remarkable and holds the film together.
The songs of Dear Comrade are the second best thing about the movie. Composed by Justin Prabhakaran and shot at some amazing locations, the songs are well placed in the movie. The only drawback of Dear Comrade is its run time. With a runtime of 2 hours and 50 minutes, the movie can seem slow paced to some.
Despite its run time, Dear Comrade will be a great movie to watch majorly because of the leads’ performance. With recent reports of Karan Johar buying the rights for the movie’s Hindi remake, it will be interesting to watch which Bollywood actor and actress will do justice to Vijay Deverakonda’s and Rashmika Mandanna’s characters.

Judgementall Hai Kya Movie Review
Cast: Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao, Lalit Behl, Jimmy Shergil and Amyra Dastur
Director: Prakash Kovelamudi
Judgementall Hai Kya follows the story of Bobby Grewal (Kangana Ranaut,) who loses her parents at a young age. The brutal trauma of the incident leaves her with acute psychosis, for which she refuses to take any medications. Working as a dubbing artist for South Indian films, her hobbies include dressing up as characters for which she dubbed and making origami out of disturbing newspaper clippings.
Things take a turn for the worse when a seemingly perfect married couple, Keshav (Rajkummar Rao) and Meena (Amyra Dastur) with a perfectly normal life, move into Bobby’s building. Bobby gets obsessed with the couple’s life and begins suspecting Keshav for being too normal. After a tragic accident which leads to a death, Bobby’s suspicion about Keshav being the murderer grows stronger. The rest of the story is about how Bobby tries her best to prove Keshav is the murderer.
Judgementall Hai Kya asks a simple question—what do you define as normal? How can a person determine if he/she is normal? Judgementall Hai Kya takes an unconventional approach to discuss mental issues, with an underlying plot of murder. The screenplay written by Kanika Dhillon is quirky and interesting, with many hilarious dialogues throughout the movie. There are many comparisons to the Ramayana. One such reference is when Bobby says to Keshav “Ab Sita Ravan ko dhoondegi.” Prakash Kovelamudi’s direction is brilliant, but struggles in some parts, especially during the second half of the movie.
The performances of the actors in the movie is what makes Judgementall Hai Kya more enjoyable. Kangana Ranaut nails the part of Bobby Grewal with her natural performance and takes the character to another level. Rajkummar Rao, as the slightly macho and edgy Keshav, is convincing and delivers the part effortlessly. Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao are joined by actors like Jimmy Shergill, Amyra Dastur, Lalit Behl and Amrita Puri, but it is Kangana who shines the most throughout the movie.
There are some flaws in the movie, particularly in the second half of the movie, where some scenes feel stretched and the climax seems a bit hurried. There is not much impact of the songs in the movie. However, the background score by Daniel B. George is amazing and matches the theme of the movie really well.
Despite the little flaws, we recommend watching Judgementall Hai Kya for its quirky storyline and performances by the lead actors.

Super 30 Movie Review
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma and Aditya Srivastava
Director: Vikas Bahl
“India is a third world country, a country of the labour class,” says the narrator, Fugga Singh (Vijay Varma,) in the opening scene of the film, to an audience in London. He then contradicts his own statement by introducing us to all the brilliant minds India has produced and goes on to narrate his own story, taking the audience from London to the streets of Bihar.
Here we are introduced to Anand Kumar (Hrithik Roshan,) a brilliant mathematician, who has completed his graduation and is extremely passionate about Mathematics. He is so good at the subject, he receives the Ramanujan Award from the Education Minister of Bihar.
Anand Kumar solves a complex mathematical equation which perplexed scholars around the world and this feat lands him a seat at the prestigious Cambridge University. However, his financial situation becomes a huge barrier and Anand is forced to shed his ambition. One day, Anand Kumar bumps into Lallan Singh (Aditya Srivastava,) who runs the Excellence Coaching Center to train elite kids for IIT-JEE. Anand Kumar joins hands with him and becomes rich and famous. Soon, he becomes the most sought after teacher in Bihar. Suddenly, a realization dawns upon Anand Kumar—some talented students in Bihar do not have access to quality education due to their financial situation. He quits the Excellence Coaching Center overnight and starts his own coaching center to train underprivileged kids for free. The rest of the story is about how this man fights for education for all.
Super 30 is a true story based on the life of Mathematics whizz Anand Kumar, who started the Super 30 program to train 30 talented students every year for the prestigious IIT-JEE.
This Vikas Bahl directorial stays true to its spirit and manages to perfectly capture the life struggles of Anand Kumar. Hrithik Roshan, as Anand Kumar, is the heart and soul of this film. Roshan sheds his superstar image to play this deglamorized character and we must say, he is exceptional. He is completely convincing as the Bihari underdog.
There are some scenes in the film, like the scene in which Anand Kumar gets selected for the Cambridge University and the climax scene of the film, where the subtle nuances in Hrithik Roshan’s acting show the depth of his potential. Mrunal Thakur, as Anand Kumar’s girlfriend, is convincing. Though she has very limited screen time, she makes an impact every time she appears on the screen.
The direction, however, could have been much better. Though Vikas Bahl manages the first half of the film well, in the second half, there are several loose ends. While many scenes and dialogues in the film are extremely inspiring, some scenes are too dramatized and decorated, considering this is a true story. The Holi scene is one such overly decorated scene and is the biggest drawback in the film. It falls so flat, it can make you cringe. The hospital scene in the climax also feels completely over the top.
Though not the chartbuster variety, Ajay-Atul’s music makes the right impact, whenever required. Sanjeev Dutta does a really good job with the dialogues. “Ab raja ka beta raja nahi banega. Raja wahi banega jo haqdaar hoga” is a dialogue which will remain in the minds of audiences for a very long time.
Despite these few flaws, we recommend watching Super 30 for its inspiring story.
