Top 5 Recent Underrated Bollywood Movies,Mango Bollywood,Bollywood Movie Updates 2019,Recent Underrated Bollywood Movies 2019,Underrated Bollywood Films,5 Most Underrated Bollywood Movies,Latest Underrated Bollywood Movies 2019,Underrated Hindi Movies 2019

From its inception, the Hindi film industry has mostly been recognized for its glitz and glamour, quirky dance numbers, over the top fight scenes and superstars ruling the box office. In an era where the success of the film is decided by its box office collections, small films which do not feature a superstar or do not have a big production house to back it up often go unnoticed and unappreciated.

Here is a list of such content backed excellent pieces of art which went unnoticed because of their lack of commercial elements. If you are a sucker for good content, you are in for a treat.

1) Tumbbad

A cinematic beauty, Tumbbad (2018) is a horror fantasy directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Adesh Prasad. Starring Sohum Shah, the story of Tumbbad revolves around a young boy whose encounter with an old lady who knows of a buried treasure sets him on a path of greed. Tumbbad is the perfect example of a film which creates surreal illusions. Shot by the incredible Pankaj Kumar, this film is a visual brilliance which seeks to surprise and not scare. Tumbbad is a brave attempt at filmmaking, which is definitely worth the watch.

2) Sui Dhaaga: Made In India

Starring Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan in lead roles, Sui Dhaaga (2018,) is a story about pride and self reliance. This Sharath Katariya directorial revolves around a man and his wife who decide to start their own garment business after being treated badly by society. Sui Dhaaga is a neatly stitched narrative which uplifts the spirit of entrepreneurship. Earnest performances by the leads adds to the movie and make it a worthwhile watch.

3) October

The Shoojit Sircar directorial October (2018) is a sweet and sad saga of love. Starring Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu and Gitanjali Rao, the story revolves around a group of interns whose lives are changed forever after an unexpected incident. This film will take you on an emotional rollercoaster and has the power to change the way you look at love and life. Sircar’s craftsmanship breathes life into every frame. Though the story remains slow paced for the most part, Varun Dhawan’s fantastic acting keeps your eyes glued to the screen.

4) Dil Dhadakne Do

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Dil Dhadakne Do (2016) is a well written story about a rich dysfunctional family and their day to day problems. The conflicts in this film are totally relatable and you will find yourself rooting for every character in the film. This film boasts of an amazing ensemble, including Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. However, Anil Kapoor’s performance is the highlight of Dil Dhadakne Do. This film is definitely worth a watch.

5) Pihu

Based on a true incident, Pihu (2018) is a thriller directed by Vinod Kapri. This film captures the trails of a two year old who gets trapped in her house, with no way to escape. This film is a subtle comment about how people in a city don’t really care about those beyond their kith and kin. This baby’s day inside will have you holding your breath. Pihu is an excellent mix of fear, tension, sympathy and distress. The key factor in the film is the stellar performance by the toddler Myra Vishwakarma. If you have an appetite for thrillers, this one is for you.

All these films, though rich in content, failed to perform well at the box office because of their lack in commercial elements. However, in recent times, we have witnessed a change in the audience’s attitude towards films. The audience are slowly learning to appreciate good content over mere glitz and glamour.

Sardar Udham Singh, Vicky Kaushal’s next film, finally has a release date.  Based on the life of Udham Singh, a revolutionary who was a part of the Indian freedom struggle, this Shoojit Sircar directorial is going to hit the screens on the 2nd of October, 2020.

Talking about the film, Shoojit Sircar said in a statement, “Yes we will be releasing on 2nd October 2020. Keeping in mind the remaining shoot schedule, the post production process and the time required to complete the film, my producers and good friends Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar advised this date for a feasible release next year, hence I decided to go ahead with it!”

Making a film about this revolutionary man was Sircar’s dream.  The Country remembers Udham Singh for shooting Brigadier General Reginald Dyer and Michael O’Dwyer, the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, in 1940.  Udham Singh killed the two men to avenge the death of all the people killed during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre (1919) in Punjab.

Apart from this biopic, Vicky Kaushal is currently working on Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship,  which is scheduled to release on the 15th of November, 2019.  Shoojit Sircar, on the other hand, is working on Gulabo Sitaabo, which will star Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead roles.

Written by Ritesh Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya, Sardar Udham Singh is bankrolled by Rising Sun Films.

After dropping a truly angry first song from the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15, the makers just dropped Naina Yeh, the second track from the movie. Quite unlike the first song, Naina Yeh is all about experiencing your emotions and opening up to the person you truly love.

Naina Yeh is composed by Piyush Shankar and sung by Yasser Desai and Aakansha Sharma. What makes this song stand out is, one can connect with the emotions of this song because of the lyrics. The actors maintained themselves in a manner which is restricted, leaving the interpretations largely to the listener. Check out the song here to know what we mean!

The first song released from this movie was an angry rap song called Shuru Karein Yeh. Depicting all the things which are wrong with the world, the first song gave one an idea of what to expect from the movie. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Article 15 is perhaps one of the most awaited movies this month.

Apart from seeing Ayushmann Khurrana in a brand new light, the story of this film is also quite an intriguing one, with inspiration drawn from a horrific gang rape case. To make things all the more exciting, this movie sees Ayushmann Khurana play the role of a cop for the first time in his career!

Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana, this movie also stars Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, M. Nasser, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Subrajyoti Bharat, Ronjini Chakraborty and Zeeshan Ayub in the lead roles. On the 14th of June, the Oshiwara Police cleared Nana Patekar of the sexual harassment charges filed against him by co star Tanushree Dutta in the year 2008. The Taxi No. 9211 actor was cleared by the police because of lack of substantial evidence against him.

Tanushree Dutta had filed her complaint against the actor for the first time in the year 2008. However, Patekar always denied all the allegations against him. Things took an ugly turn between the two during the #MeToo movement in 2018, post which, Dutta filed a new case against her 68 year old co star.

In the First Information Report (FIR) registered at the Oshiwara Police Station last October, Dutta claimed, the song for the film Horn “OK” Pleassss was originally supposed to feature only her, but Patekar got himself included into it after speaking to producer Samee Siddiqui, director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya. She alleged, on March 26th 2008, Patekar touched her inappropriately on the pretext of teaching her dance steps.

While filing her FIR, the 35 year old Dutta alleged, Patekar demanded intimate dance steps be added to the song of which they were both a part. According to Dutta, Patekar wanted this song to be added even though she wasn’t comfortable with the steps and the way the song was being shot.

Dutta further said Patekar threatened her when she refused to accept the new changes in the song. While filing her report, the actress said, at least two people were privy to this exchange and were even ready to talk to the police to justify the claims. However, the case against Patekar closed because the Mumbai Police could not find any evidence to take the case forward. With no other option, the Police had to shut the case.

While attempting to prove his innocence, Patekar said, he did not know how to dance and even the few steps he had—he took close to 25 to 30 takes to get them right. Patekar further said, Dutta and he practised their dance steps at a distance from each other and at no point during the shooting of the song were they were together. Neither the producer nor the director and choreographer were able to back Tanushree Dutta’s claims regarding this matter.

The police also found, a complaint given by Tapankumar Dutta, Tanushree’s father, to the Goregaon police station, contained no mention of alleged sexual harassment by Patekar. “Her father’s complaint mentions that Dutta did not like a scene in the film and asked Acharya to change it.
