Amitabh Bachchan Movies That Need To Be Made Again
Amitabh Bachchan was perhaps the man behind redefining Hindi cinema. From redefining the way people looked at actors to the way he captivated the audience through his brilliant acting, Big B is most certainly the man who made Indian cinema what it is today. From Sholay to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum to Pink, Amitabh Bachchan has more than proved his worth not just as an actor but a man who stood on a platform of his own. Check out some of the most iconic performances by this great man here.
With his larger than life personality and oozing with charisma like never before, Amitabh Bachchan burned the screen with his brilliant acting in Hum! Playing the role of Rajnikanth’s and Govinda’s brother in this multi starrer movie, Big B definitely made his presence felt in this Mukul Anand directorial. If this movie was to be remade, no one else can even think of being compared to the brilliant cast this Mukul Anand film had!
2. Muqaddar Ka Sikander
In this filmy version of Devdas, Amitabh Bachchan proved his worth as one of the finest actors in the Bollywood industry. Standing his ground next to a talented star like Vinod Khanna, Big B made it be known that he was not just a good looking man but a really talented actor as well!
Amitabh Bachchan delivered one of his best performances in his career in this Hrishikesh Mukherji directorial. Playing the role of an insecure husband constantly overshadowed by his extremely talented wife, Big B portrays what every man in this position feels like with flawless ease. No other actor could have played this role as well as Amitabh Bachchan did!
Perhaps one of the best films made by Yash Chopra, Silsila was one of the most romantic films Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha acted in together. A star studded film, this movie laid the foundation of a beautiful chemistry between Rekha and Big B, with Sanjeev Kumar essaying his role to a level of perfection like never before! Definitely a film that needs to be remade, hopefully with the same cast if possible!
How many people can play a man suffering from indigestion and constipation as well as Amitabh? Not many, right? Right! With a host of different personalities to his character, Senior Bachchan pulled off the role of an over bearing father with extreme ease and perfection. On the other hand, Piku cannot be described as a movie with bowel and constipation issues. It is about breaking from the conventional norms of story telling and exploring family dynamics in a new light, with Big B forming the central character of the film!
While there have been several versions of Don, the original Amitabh Bachchan film can never be remade, with this version always remaining as one of the most classic films made to date. With snazzy one liners and a spectacular double role performance by Big B, the original Don deserves a place on the best Bollywood films to date and has to immortalised in the forever changing sands of time.
Not many could have dreamed of playing second fiddle to Rajesh Khanna and still get noticed. However, Amitabh Bachchan did the unthinkable and managed to get noticed despite being paired opposite such an impressive actor. While Big B turned his act around and got noticed for his acting skills, Anand was also the movie which was credited as the turning point in his career.
Before doing Zanjeer, Amitabh Bachchan was known for his family dramas and sensitive roles. However, this film showed the serious side to this quick growing actor and was responsible for Amitabh Bachchan’s nickname as the Angry Young Man of Bollywood! With anger and depth instilled into every scene of this really well thought out film, Amitabh Bachchan grew into his own.
There have been so many movies Big B has been a part of that were thought to be really great. However, while we cannot mention them all here, we live it to you to pick the ones you think are best. Comment and let us know which Big B movie you loved the most and why!
Bollywood Celebrities Who Worked Together Despite Breaking Up
When celebrities break up, it is like a part of you as an audience dies as well. However, one of the ways one can keep this dying romance alive is by looking at these people on the silver screen. While they may not have given us forever goals in real life, at least their reel life presence is strong enough to help us believe in happily ever afters! Check out these couples who did some really great movies together despite having some really not so great breakups.
1. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif
When Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif broke up, it was perhaps the saddest day in the history of relationships in Bollywood. They were hot, they were happening and they were in the moment at the time. However, when they parted ways, everyone thought there was no hope left. Thankfully, the two were working on Jagga Jasoos while they were still dating and when it came out right after their breakup, it was like a much needed hangover cure.
2. Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh
Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh were together for quite a while before they parted ways. He was the original quirky dude and she was the ultimate style icon. When they broke up, it really took one a long time to get over this massive betrayal. However, people thought their chemistry in Band Baaja Baaraat was so palpable, it just had to be recreated. Dil Dhadakne Do came as the much needed answer for the sad breakup that was the end of Anushka Sharma’s and Ranveer Singh’s relationship and thank God for that!
3. Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan
Before Katrina Kaif dated Ranbir Kapoor, she had a very unusual beau on her arm in the form of Salman Khan. Even though the two were always in the limelight for dating back in 2009, they never denied or acknowledged the many rumours surrounding their alleged relationship. While their relationship wasn’t obvious, their breakup definitely was and when one saw them together in Ek Tha Tiger, it looked like a true testament to their love! Such an aww moment, this film!
4. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone
Another breakup that broke everyone’s hearts was Ranbir Kapoor’s and Deepika Padukone’s. While they were the shiniest toy in town when they were dating, their breakup had a massively disastrous effect on everyone. When they came together in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, their chemistry was something a lot of people appreciated.
5. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor
Not only did Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have an amazing relationship when they were together, they had a breakup which was quite in contrast to their relationship. The difference showed in the movies they worked in after breaking up. Remember how great they looked together in Jab We Met? Although this chemistry seemed to be missing in Udta Punjab, it was still really nice to see them together!
After following the journey of these Bollywood couples from the beginning, it is hard to see them break up. However, it is nice to have these lost love stories being immortalized in the form of films and movies. Which couple do you think should not have broken up? Comment and let us know!
Shocking Bollywood Breakups
When your friends break up, you go through heartache for them because you know they were really adorable together and they helped you believe in true love. However, when a Bollywood couple breaks up, it’s like something in your heart snaps. With the world being all about social media now, Bollywood relationships are brought to the fore like never before. From their first kiss to their first date to their anniversaries, everything is chronicled with very graphic details. The same is done for when these couples break up and when you look at how couples like John Abraham and Bipasha Basu used to be like or at how Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor used to be gaga over each other, you wonder what went wrong. Here’s taking a look at couples who when they broke up, left us with gaping holes in the place where our hearts used to be.
1. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan
Remember when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan came on Koffee With Karan and talked about how each of them had played a significant role in the other’s growth? When you saw that particular episode, did it not want you to believe they would someday end up on the altar, with a big ring on Kareena’s finger? Unfortunately, these words and happy thoughts were short lived. Soon after the episode, the two had a very public break up, breaking not just each other’s hearts, but ours as well!
2. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone
Both of them were perhaps the hottest couple in Bollywood when they were dating. When they were seeing each other in the year 2007, everyone thought they were perfect for each other. Every time they were in public, they looked like they were the only ones in the room and that no one else mattered. However, when they broke up, the ugly truth about their relationship came to light. In fact, what was all the more heartbreaking here was that Ranbir came out and told the press he had cheated on Deepika multiple times and that their relationship was a facade. Now if that isn’t cruel, I do not know what else is!
3. John Abraham and Bipasha Basu
He was the hunk everyone wanted a piece of and she was at the peak of her career. When John Abraham and Bipasha Basu were together, their love seemed invincible. When they got together on the sets of Jism in the year 2003, everybody around them thought their union would turn into marriage. However, things were not as perfect as they seemed and the couple parted ways amidst a lot of public furor a decade later. If they had gotten married, imagine how ridiculously good looking their babies would be!
4. Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan
While Bollywood may have seen more than its fair share of married couples drift apart, perhaps the one failed marriage which stung the most was the split between Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan. Despite being married for so long (and blessed with two adorable sons,) the two undeniably good looking people decided to end their relationship. Although the rumours for their split are widespread and many, the real reason has still been kept under wraps. Thankfully, unlike the other divorces and break ups, Hrithik and Sussanne have managed to keep a civil presence when it comes to their public appearances.
5. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif
Ranbir Kapoor, the infamous breaker of hearts, has been the center of more than one bad public break up. When he got together with Katrina Kaif, fans all over thought this relationship would definitely end in a happily forever after. However, despite moving in together and attempting to start a life in that direction, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif parted ways, without really giving people a reason about why they split up. Now, according to the rumour mill, Ranbir Kapoor is dating Alia Bhatt, someone who is Katrina Kaif’s best friend!
6. Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh
She was new to the industry and he had just started making his presence felt in the world of Bollywood. Remember Band Baaja Baaraat and the amazing chemistry Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma shared on screen? While their chemistry was enough to set the screen on fire, it wasn’t enough to keep their off screen romance alive. Now, Ranveer is rumoured to be tying the knot with Deepika Padukone very soon while Anushka Sharma is spending her happily forever after with Virat Kohli! Quite a turn of events, no?

Bollywood Celebrities Who Hold Guinness Book Records
Bollywood as an industry is extremely cool, to say the least. From stars having movies on their lives (Sanju and Karenjit Kaur) to holding Guinness Book Records, our celebrities live life king size always! Today, we are here to tell you about stars who earned a place for themselves in the book of records!
1. Asha Bhosle (Most number of recordings)
While this particular record is not all that surprising, the name just has to be mentioned on the list. Asha Bhosle has created a record for having the maximum number of studio recordings. The gorgeous singer has recorded over 11,000 songs in more than 20 languages since the year 1947. How cool is that?
2. Abhishek Bachchan (Most number of public appearances)
When Abhishek Bachchan was touring to promote Delhi 6, he broke the record for making the most number of public appearances in 12 hours! The actor travelled around 1800 km in 12 hours, leading to him achieving this feat. During the promotions, he visited places like the EDM mall in Ghaziabad, Spice at Noida, Crown Plaza in Faridabad, Select Citywalk, Ambience Mall and Central Mall in Chandigarh and Shoppers’ Stop in Juhu in Mumbai.
3. The Kapoor family (Largest screen family)
Remember Prithviraj Kapoor, the patriarch of the Kapoor family? Since his entrance into the world of Bollywood, there have been not one, not two, but twenty four members of the Kapoor family who are in the world of acting! The Kapoor family has been in the Guinness Book of Records since the year 1999.
4. Jagdish Raj (Most typecast actor)
Jagdish Raj has been known for being the most typecast actor in the industry. So spectacular was his performance as a police inspector, he played the character in 144 films! Some of his most talked about performances were in movies like Silsila, Deewar, Don and Shakti.
5. Amitabh Bachchan (Only star to sing the Shri Hanuman Chalisa)
While Junior Bachchan was awarded his place in the Guinness Book of Records for the most number of public appearances, Senior Bachchan was awarded a place for being the only actor who sang the Hanuman Chalisa. Such a unique reason for being in the book of records, no?
6. Shah Rukh Khan (Most earning star in Bollywood)
Easily the most popular star in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, also known as King Khan, entered the Guinness Book of Records for being the highest paid Bollywood celebrity. Not just that, he also was first on the list of the highest paid celebrities according to Forbes. The actor recorded a total earning of Rs. 220 crores in the year 2013.
7. Katrina Kaif (Highest paid actress in 2013)
Quite like Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif was the highest paid actor in the industry. So popular was she in the year 2013, she earned a place for herself in the Guinness Book of Records for having an annual income of Rs. 63.75 crores! At the time, no other actress had been able to come even close to her in terms of earning. How inspiring is that?
8. P. Jairaj (Longest career in Bollywood)
P. Jairaj earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records for having the longest career in Bollywood. When P. Jairaj made his debut during the silent film era in Bollywood in 1929, not many people took notice of this actor. However, with a career spanning a period of 70 years and with over 300 films to his name, this actor has certainly earned his place in the Guinness Book of Records!
To say that our stars are cool is definitely an understatement, right? If you think we missed out on any celebrities who broke other similar records, comment and let us know!
Kishore Kumar And A Memory That Lives Through Music
Kishore Kumar lef the world on 13th October 1987, marking it as a sad day in the history of Bollywood and music. A day that took away one of the most enigmatic and beautiful singers, 13th October was labelled as the end of an era. When Kishore Kumar passed away, India lost a true gem, making fans all over realise that if music had a name, the name would be Kishore Da. Known for his voice filled with feelings, it is only befitting that one pays tribute to this great man through the melodious music he left behind. As I sit back on this nostalgic Sunday and think of the loss of a singer who touched not only his generation, but several ones after, I would like to leave you with these songs.
1. Yeh Shaam Mastani (Kati Patang, 1971)
Yeah, today’s evening is going to be a beautiful one, but really, remembering the death of this great man is going to put a damper on a beautiful Sunday. If only Kishore Da were still alive, every evening would be a wonderful and memorable one, with new songs and melodies to keep the bad dreams at bay!
2. Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si (Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, 1958)
Hands down one of the most amazing songs by Kishore Kumar, this song has been playing on my mind since the time I woke up this morning! Perhaps the best kind of tribute one can play to Kishore Kumar, either on a rainy day or a sunny day!
3. Dil Kya Kare (Julie, 1975)
Seriously, Dil Kya Kare when you lose someone who has been such an indirect and close part of your life? Nothing more than listen to Kishore Kumar’s music, right? On a side note, every time I break up with a dude (happens more number of times than you can think of,) this song is my go to heart fixer!
4. Maana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin (Paying Guest, 1975)
This song is feels personified. With Kishore Da in his complete element in Maana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin is a Kishore Da song through and through. The song is a perfect description of love that is not entirely two sided and is perhaps the most beautiful ode to being okay with the bad situations as any!
5. Roop Tera Mastana (Aradhana, 1975)
How many times a day have you listened to this song and hummed it over and over? Come on, you know you love this song as much as we do! Do not cat call pretty girls with this song. Bad idea! You’ll land up in prison and that is never good for anyone, right?
6. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (Blackmail, 1973)
Kishore Da, you may have left the world, but you are always going to be close to our heart. No matter what. Even more so through this song. P.S., if you were ever in the need of a quick fix with the love of your life, this song is the ultimate problem fixer! Trust me, a lot of people I know have used it and it has worked wonders every single time.
7. Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Aayegi Tu (Aradhana, 1969)
Putting into words what every man wants, this song is the perfect ode to finding true love and happily ever afters. Interestingly, in recent times, the songs from Dilwale Dulhaniye Le Jayenge are the only ones that comes close to this beauty! However, Kishore Kumar is the true original genius when it comes to romantic music, right?
As the country mourns the death of a man who would have been 80 if fate had not ended his life early, I am going to kick back, relax and play these songs all day with a cup of hot, strong tea! What is your favourite Kishore Kumar song? Comment and let us know!
