Bollywood as an industry is quite peculiar. Our zealous directors seem to love the idea of revisiting the past and trying to capture the magic of the days gone by. While the idea of sequels and prequels did not really sit well with the audience, revised versions of Bollywood hits are quite popular. If you are having a particularly Manic Monday, then these remakes just might turn the day around for you.

1. Laila Main Laila

I absolutely love both the original and remade versions of this song. Starring Sunny Leone, the new version was called Laila Main Laila and retained the original score. What made this song such a hit was Sunny Leone‘s uncanny impression of Zeenat Aman from the original film! Listen to the song here if you have been living under a rock for the last couple of years!

2. Tamma Tamma Again

Tamma Tamma Again, featuring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, was another remake that has to make it to this list. While this song also retained the original tune, what makes it different is the crazy rap beats, turning the song into one of the craziest party anthems of the year! Listen to it here if you want to groove to something upbeat and funky.

3. Hawa Hawai 2.0

Hawa Hawai, the iconic song from Mr. India (1987) featuring Sridevi was remade for Tumhari Sulu as Hawa Hawai 2.0. Featuring Vidya Balan, Neha Dhupia and RJ Malishka, Kavita Krishnamurthy’s unmistakable vocals have been retained in this recreated and reprogrammed new version. The song hit just the right chords with the audiences instantly and became an instant hit! Listen to this peppy number here!

If your Monday started off with as bad a note as mine, then these songs are definitely what you need. If you think we missed on any amazing remakes, feel free to comment and let us know!
