Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi, the sequel to the 2016 runaway comic success, Happy Bhag Jayegi, is hitting the headlines for all the right reasons. The makers of this film just dropped the trailer and by the looks of it, the movie promises to be quite a fun joy ride!
Par main woh Happy nahi hoon jisse tum dhoondh rahe ho! #HappyPhirrBhagJayegi official trailer out exclusively on #ErosNow – https://t.co/j2jrZSYal9@ErosNow @DianaPenty @jimmysheirgill @alifazal9 @jassi1gill @mudassar_as_is @aanandlrai @cypplofficial @krishikalulla #PiyushMishra
— Sonakshi HAPPY Sinha (@sonakshisinha) July 25, 2018
While the 2016 released film shows the runaway story of one Happy, the just dropped trailer of the sequel has quite a bit happening. What is different, you ask? Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi tells the tale of not one, but two runaway Happy’s! While the Happy played by Sonakshi Sinha gets kidnapped by mobsters, Jimmy Shergil’s character’s marriage gets called off.
HERE WE COME!!!
24th August 2018!
— Mudassar Aziz (@mudassar_as_is) July 25, 2018
While the first part of this series starred Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Diana Penty in pivotal roles, the sequel has quite an interesting cast. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi stars Diana Penty, who was also the lead in original, as well as Sonakshi Sinha. It has an ensemble star cast comprising of Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal, Abhay Deol, Jassi Gill and Aparshakti Khurana playing pivotal parts.
Talking about the role, she said, “I do have some practice driving manual cars but this mini truck was no cake walk. It was a very old and heavy vehicle and because it was manual, the steering and gears were extremely tiresome and required a lot of strength to manoeuvre. Since it was a chase sequence, I had to accelerate the speed but with enough skill to guide my course safely on the roads. Having to burn rubber with that massive beast was quite the challenge but when we got it, the feeling was incredible.” Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi is scheduled to hit the screens on 24 August, 2018!
Badla First Song Kyun Rabba Released
Kyun Rabba, the first song from Taapsee Pannu’s and Amitabh Bachchan’s highly anticipated film, Badla, is finally out! While the recently released trailer shows us about what the movie is, without really divulging the details, the song gives us a little more insight.
Composed by Amaal Mallik and sung by Armaan Malik, the first song has been shot through the point of view of the character played by Taapsee Pannu. Bringing out an array of emotions and feelings, Kyun Rabba shows how a woman deals with a broken heart and with unrequited love. Listen to the song from Badla here and now!
Dil haste haste roh padaa, dard aansuon mein hai bada…

Centering primarily around the character played by Taapsee Pannu, this song is all about accepting that life doesn’t always go the way you want. With different storylines being played out, this song also hints at the fact that Taapsee’s character may be having an extramarital affair. With not a lot of information revealed about this part in the trailer or any of the posters, the twist in the song adds a certain sense of intrigue to the story.
Speaking about the song, composer Amaal Mallik said in a statement, “I like to keep things simple, especially for a song that is set in a thriller like Badla, where the emotions need to be conveyed with complexity. So, I compose a melody first and then place the arrangements for the song. Here, we’ve opted for an alternate rock feel with an Indian soundscape.”
With the song being all things simple and easy, Kyun Rabba doesn’t act like a filler, but instead, pushes the movie forward. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Badla brings back Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu after Pink, their first film together. While Taapsee Pannu plays the role of a woman trying to defend herself, Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of her lawyer. Badla is scheduled to hit the screens on the 8th of March this year!
Photograph Trailer Released
Photograph, Ritesh Batra’s latest directorial, has been hitting the headlines for all the right reasons! With an impressive cast, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra, Batra tells a beautiful story. Shot through the streets of Mumbai, the recently dropped trailer of Photograph gives one a glimpse of love in a different way altogether.
The two and a half minute long trailer shows how both Rafi (Nawazuddin) and Miloni (Sanya Malhotra) start falling in love with each other in strange circumstances. Desperately trying to avoid marriage, the trailer shows how both Miloni and Rafi live their lives on their own terms. With the first seeds of romance being sown when Rafi takes a mesmerising picture of Miloni in front of the Gateway of India, the rest of the trailer shows an interesting display of emotions. Watch the trailer here!
प्यारी दादी आपकी बहु को लेकर आ रहा हूँ 15 मार्च को…
नज़दीकी सिनमाघरों में।
तब तक उसकी ये झलक देख लीजिये।।
Trailer Out Now #Photograph @riteshbatra @sanyamalhotra07 @AmazonStudios @PhotographAmzn https://t.co/w1GV5i7V8a
— Nawazuddin Siddiqui (@Nawazuddin_S) February 18, 2019
Just when Rafi and Miloni start developing a bond, Rafi learns of his grandmother, played by Farrukh Jaffar, not taking her tablets. Why? Rafi is rejecting every girl he sees and the very idea of marriage in itself. Introducing Miloni as his love interest, Rafi opens the doors to a new story entirely. Through the trailer, one sees the bond growing stronger in a way which makes you wonder if the bond is fabricated, or if there is a chance of a true romance developing!
Just like The Lunchbox, Ritesh Batra has once again done wonders and brought two extremely unlikely people together in a beautiful manner. Watching an unusual friendship develop into a stronger relationship is going to be quite a treat to watch. With Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra bringing their A games to the table, Photograph promises to be an engaging movie! Also starring Sachin Khedekar, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Robin Das, Jim Sarbh and Denzil Smith, Photograph is scheduled to hit the screens on the 15th of March this year!
Luka Chuppi Song, Tu Laung Main Elaachi, Out Now
Tu Laung Main Elaachi, the fourth song from Luka Chuppi, just dropped. Looking at it, one can safely say, the trend of remaking songs isn’t dying anytime soon. With Kriti Sanon’s and Kartik Aaryan’s characters being the central focus, this song is set against the backdrop of their wedding.
The new song draws inspiration from a Punjabi song with a similar name (Laung Laachi,) and leaves you wanting for more. Sung by Mannat Noor, the original track is from a 2018 movie, Laung Laachi. Interestingly, the new version retains the lyrics from the original Punjabi song, which were written by Harmanjit. The music for the new version is composed by Tanishk Bagchi. Listen to the new version here!

— Kartik Aaryan (@TheAaryanKartik) February 18, 2019
The two and a half minute video of Tu Laung Main Elaachi sees Kartik’s and Kriti’s characters shaking their legs to the tunes of this Punjabi song during the rituals which follow their wedding. This new song is the fourth recreated song of the movie, with the earlier songs being Poster Lagwa Do, Coca Cola and Photo. In fact, according to the rumour mill, the makers are all set to release a fifth song, also a remake, called Duniya!
Telling the story of two people defying the society by living together before marriage, Luka Chuppi is directed by Laxman Utekar. Also starring Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi, this movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan. Scheduled to release on the 1st of March, Luka Chuppi is going to clash with the Bhumi Pednekar and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer, Sonchiraiya! With a story line like this, it is going to be truly interesting to see how Luka Chuppi does at the thearter!
Bollywood Movies Which Failed When They First Released
Some Bollywood movies become hits and some fail. However, there are some with brilliant scripts and characters which fail, despite having everything going the right way for them. There are movies which gained recognition long after they hit the screens. Here’s taking a look at the movies which should have been super hits, but failed to make the kind of impact they should have!
1. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro
The failure of this film is a shocker even today. Despite having an impressive star cast (Boman Irani, Naseeruddin Shah, Puri, Ravi Baswani and Pankaj Kapur,) the film just failed to take off when it first released. A story about two photographers and their journey to success, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro just did not get the credit it deserved. Why? Because people in the ’80s just didn’t get satire as a concept, especially when it came in the form of a film! However, after a couple of years, the movie started being noticed by the right audience and people finally started accepting the greatness it was! So much that it eventually became a cult phenomenon!
2. Andaz Apna Apna
Andaz Apna Apna, despite being such a loved and sought after movie today, just failed to make an impression when it released. Although Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor gave brilliant performances, the movie just refused to stick. While the targeted audience refused to get the message of the film (friendship always comes over love) at that point, people today absolutely love it. Well, it probably takes a long time to appreciate the intensity of the film and the brilliance of the story.
3. Rocket Singh
Perhaps the first time Ranbir Kapoor played a Sikh, the failure of Rocket Singh was a massive surprise. With a storyline which was impressive to the very end, this movie showed the struggles and the underbelly of the marketing world to perfection. However, what people didn’t get perhaps was the understated way the movie told the story. While all the actors put out their finest performances, the movie just didn’t do the wonders it was expected to at the box office. However, a few years later, the film finally picked up a fan following, going so far as to winning Ranbir Kapoor an award at the Filmfare!
4. Pyar Ka Punchnama
Okay, the fact this particular film failed wasn’t an entire surprise. Albeit being filled with certain funny moments and interesting monologues, the movie just failed to stick with the larger audience. Made with six debutants, this film had a lot of hidden innuendos and snide comments against a particular gender. A reason, which perhaps acted as the film’s drawback. However, despite all the negative remarks, this film still managed to get quite a good following years after its release. In fact, people liked it so much, they went ahead and made a second part! Oh, well! Humour is subjective.
When news about Swades first started doing the rounds, people thought there was no doubt the movie was going to be a success. However, when it eventually released, it barely made a splash. Complete with a star like Shah Rukh Khan playing the lead and a story which was heartwarming to the very end, the reaction Swades received was lukewarm, at best. Telling the story of one man’s dreams of providing electricity to his village, the climax just failed to keep the audience hooked. Thankfully though, good sense prevailed and people finally accepted Swades for all the great things it has to offer, purely because of the content.
Another Ranbir Kapoor movie which just didn’t make the cut when it released, Rockstar flopping was quite a surprise. While both Nargis Fakhri and Ranbir Kapoor brought their A games to the table, the movie was just not liked by the audience. One of the reasons which could be attributed to the dislike is the fact, the ending was in no way conducive to the rest of the story. While it may not have done well or appreciated at the time of its release, Rockstar started gaining a cult following and today, it is quite a favourite movie!
There are movies which become instant successes when they release and then there are movies which take time to gain following. This is our list of movies which gained recognition after they hit the screens. What movies do you think should have become successes, but failed instead? Comment and let us know!
Amitabh Bachchan – Best Movies Of The Superstar From The Last 50 Years
Amitabh Bachchan, the superstar, the King of Bollywood, the ultimate Badshah of Bollywood, finishes 50 years in the industry today! While the baritone voice is a familiar presence in the Country now, the Angry Young Man of Bollywood had an inspiring journey. Here is taking a look at Amitabh Bachchan’s journey in the world of Bollywood in the last 5 decades!
Zanjeer set the world of Bollywood onto a new path. While Amitabh Bachchan was already coming into his own before this film, Zanjeer gave the actor a new direction. When Amitabh Bachchan was introduced to the world of Bollywood, people had a new face to look at and admire. With the movie being all things amazing and Amitabh Bachchan being hailed as the next big thing, everyone was looking forward to something exciting. As a first movie, Zanjeer was the best thing which could happen to the Angry Young Man.
From the moment Zanjeer became the super hit film that it was destined to be, Amitabh Bachchan’s success kept growing. With Silsila, his presence in the world of Bollywood was further cemented through his brilliant acting skills. His scintillating chemistry with Rekha quite literally set the rumour mill on fire, giving people a fresh new pair to look forward to everyday! A movie which wasn’t just about love, Silsila redefined the way people looked at and dealt with different circumstances. With the characters being so carefully handled, the movie just made everyone stand up and take notice of not just Amitabh Bachchan, but of Rekha as well!
A movie which needs no introduction, Sholay was an Amitabh Bachchan classic film. A classic, Sholay was one of the highest grossing films released at the time and ranked first in the British Film Institute’s 2002 poll of “Top 10 Indian Films” of all time. A story about two criminals (Jeet and Veeru, played by Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan,) who try to capture a criminal, Gabbar Singh, this movie more than earned its place in the hall of fame. While the film initially received negative reactions when it released, the reviews quickly picked up and people started falling in love with the characters and the attention to detail the film had. Sholay was a film like never before and was perhaps one of the best performances Amitabh gave so far!
The first and original Don, Amitabh Bachchan was a class act like no other actor. Playing a double role for the first time in his career, senior Bachchan ruled the roost with his acting skills in this movie! The third highest grossing movie when it released, this movie set the charts on fire because of how well Amitabh pulled his weight in both the roles in this movie. Classified as a golden jubilee hit by Box Office India, Don was an iconic movie in every sense of the word. The line, “Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai,” is still popular even today!
This film had a lot of expectations riding on Amitabh Bachchan. The title for this movie was taken from a poem written by Harshvardhan Rai Bachchan (Amitabh’s father) and the film also had an extremely talented cast (Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi, Neelam Kothari, Rohini Hattangadi and Danny Denzongpa.) The poem written by Amitabh’s father was recited at the beginning of the film and just like Amitabh’s character, the poem gives shape to the central crux of this film as well. With Big B playing the character so well, Agneepath went on to become a major cult movie in years to come!
Telling the story of Piku Banerjee (played by Deepika Padukone) and her father (Amitabh Bachchan,) Piku saw Amitabh Bachchan acing the character. From praising the characterisation, to loving the plot, critics and fans alike loved the movie so much, it became an instant hit the moment it released! While both Deepika Padukone and Irfan Khan added a certain impact to the movie, it was Amitabh Bachchan’s perfect portrayal of a cranky old man which added the much needed gravitas to Piku. Definitely one of Amitabh’s best performances in the recent past!
While Amitabh Bachchan was known for playing certain roles during the earlier part of his career, he grew to play different types of characters in the future years. From changing the way people saw him in cinema, to creating a positive image for himself, Amitabh Bachchan has quite literally carved a throne for himself in the world of Bollywood. Here’s looking forward to more amazing films from the Badshah of Bollywood in the coming 50 years!
