This lovely flick is everything you want to know about!
Two love birds brimming with love and the consequences they face are extremely astonishing, due to caste differences. Dhadak which is a remake of the super hit Marathi flick Sairat, is definitely worth a watch. It marks the debut of Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of the legendary actress the late Sridevi and everybody is all praise for this young actress! The movie also features Shahid Kapoor’s half brother Ishaan Khatter and his performance is being appreciated worldwide!
Dhadak hit the screens on Friday 20th July 2018. The movie released on 2791 screens out of which 2235 were in India and the rest overseas. It became the highest opening newcomer movie!
— Apoorva Mehta (@apoorvamehta18) July 21, 2018
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak noticed a significant rise on Saturday as its total collections climbed to Rs. 19.75 crores. The flick began its theatrical run with Rs. 8.71 crores and went on to earn Rs. 11.04 crores on Day 2.
Apart from the box office collection, Dhadak is receiving applause for its amazing picturization and the cast’s outstanding performance.
According to the well known trade analyst Girish Johar, Dhadak has its pros which seem to work in its favour. He said the movie will earn around Rs. 6.5 crores on its opening day. It might be a little too much for a movie with a newcomer in the lead but Dhadak has three to four factors working in its favour. One, it is the Sridevi sympathy factor, second, Janhvi is making a debut with the movie, third, the film is a remake of Sairat which is already a blockbuster and last, it is a Dharma Production project.
Here is what Taran Adarsh said about Dhadak!
#Dhadak witnesses SIGNIFICANT GROWTH on Day 2… Growth on Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 26.75%… Sun biz expected to be higher than Sat… Eyes ₹ 30 cr+ weekend, which is EXCELLENT for a film starring newcomers… Fri 8.71 cr, Sat 11.04 cr. Total: ₹ 19.75 cr. India biz.

Gold Film Review And First Day Box Office Expectations
Director: Reema Kagati
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Singh
For some obscure reason, the day India became free seems to be one of the most sought after days by filmmakers. Singing to this tune, Reema Kagti’s just released Gold glitters with patriotism and love for one’s country. The first 20 minutes of this historical film show the tri colour flag being proudly displayed at the 1948 Olympics in India, with the hockey team being portrayed as the main focal point.
Right from the very beginning of the film, one can tell Akshay Kumar (playing the character of Tapan Das) is the unsaid hero of this particular hockey team. Seemingly based on the Indian hockey team’s stupendous win at the Olympics, Gold as a film is disappointing.
One of the major things going against this Akshay Kumar starrer is perhaps the amount of focus placed on the main lead. Even with the tri colour fluttering with pride in the background, the characters are sketchy and weak. As a manager, Tapan Das is always high on whiskey and self regret. Even Tapan’s banters with his wife (Monobina) seem tired, scripted and pretentious. Perhaps one of the highlights of this film is a song which chronicles all the major life changing events of India as a country.
While not a lot about Gold, there seems to be a singly ray of light in the form of a positive relationship shown between India and Pakistan. It is the manipulation and the predictability in the film which seems to fall flat on more than one occasion through the movie. Overall, Gold as a story is a well plotted drama that sometimes devolves into schmaltz and melodrama. However, it gives us solid two and half hours of tri colour hued entertainment, with more patriotism stuffed down your throat than one could stomach comfortably. Watch if you really want to, but not for the sake of entertainment.

3 Reasons To Watch Karwaan!
Karwaan, starring Irrfan Khan, the next film from Ronnie Srewvala Productions, is all set to hit the screens tomorrow and from the looks of things, this film is going to be quite promising. Starring Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar and Dulquer Salmaan, this film explores the journey of three people being forced to travel together in the midst of surprising situations. If the lead cast is not enough for you to run to the theatres, then these reasons could convince you!
1. The journey
There are several kinds of journeys one can take. Be it journeys with best friends, solo journeys or with acquaintances, every experience is beautiful. Karwaan shows the journey of three people from different walks of life being thrown into one journey in the hopes of discovering themselves. With three misfit characters, the plot of this film connects with you on a personal level.
2. The three different stars
Rarely has there been a Bollywood film with leads from such different backgrounds. One is a YouTube sensation, the other is from the South, while the third is the king of unconventional Bollywood cinema. The diversity that Mithali Palkar, Dulquer Salmaan and Irrfan Khan bring to the screen is extremely interesting and brings out a very unique combination.
3. The music
What makes a movie about travel and self discovery outstanding? The music, of course! With songs like Chota Sa Fasana, Heartquake and Sansein, Karwaan comes with the perfect combination of peppy and soul touching music. Furthermore, the locations depicted in the film make the entire story beautifully eye catching.
The story of three strangers travelling through the scenic routes of Ooty and Kochi (with two dead bodies in tow,) makes Karwaan an exciting and entertaining film. If you have not booked your tickets for the film, hurry and do so now before they are sold out!
