The makers of Sanju just released Kar Har Maidaan Fateh, the second song from the much awaited biopic on the life of Sanjay Dutt. Unlike the first song, this song tells the bone curdling story of Sanjay Dutt’s battle with drug addiction and how tried to over come the desires.
The song in itself starts with Ranbir Kapoor (playing Sanjay Dutt in the film) asking Paresh Rawal (playing Sanjay Dutt’s father, Sunil Dutt) to help him get over his addiction. The entire song maps Sanjay Dutt’s journey and ends with him smelling fresh air for the first time in a long while.

The song is gut wrenching and soul touching, with Ranbir Kapoor’s vulnerable side brought to the front. The two and a half minute song is the perfect tribute to Sanjay Dutt’s struggles of being a drug addict. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, Kar Har Maidaan Fateh also sees glimpses of Manisha Koirala playing the role of Nargis (Sanjay Dutt’s mother.) Listen to the song here.
At the trailer launch of the film, Ranbir had spoken about how he felt portraying various phases of Sanjay’s life, “When I was a child, I had a poster of Sanju sir on the wall of my cupboard, and through this film, I am in his shoes. I think in my life, I really want Sanju sir to like me.”
“I know I never can be the man he is, but in whichever way that I go about in my career as a person and even through this film, I really want Sanju sir to like me because I feel that he is a man that I respect a lot and I really look up to him. I hope that he feels that I have represented his life in a very honest way,” he added.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju stars an ensemble of great actors such as Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Sonam Kapoor as Ranbir’s love interest, Dia Mirza as Maanayata Dutt and Vicky Kaushal as a friend. The film is scheduled to release on 29 June, 2018.
Celebrities Who Played Lovers And Siblings
Bollywood as an industry revolves around and celebrates relationships. From showing love between siblings to love between a couple, the film industry has done it all. Check out these actors who went above and beyond, showing us they can be lovers one time and siblings at another!
1. Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh
These two are amazing. Remember how they played husband wife in Bajirao Mastani and everyone thought their chemistry was enviable? From being intensely in love with each other, the two played brother and sister in the film Dil Dhadakne Do! Quite a cool change, right?
2. Deepika Padukone and John Abraham
Deepika Padukone and John Abraham share quite the chemistry, right? While they killed it as a couple in the film Dezi Boys, they gave everyone true sibling goals in Race 2, the sequel to Race!
3. Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
With some brilliant films like Devdas and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to their name, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan proved their chemistry is enviable, to say the least. However, what makes them really good actors is that they can pull off the sibling role just as well!
4. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tusshar Kapoor
While they showed everyone how good they look as a couple in Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Tusshar Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan showed us another side in the film Golmaal Returns. Their relationship as siblings was definitely more appreciated than their relationship as lovers, right?
5. Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla
Before their infamously famous fight, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt were quite sought after in the Bollywood industry. From playing a couple in love in Jhankar Beats to playing supportive siblings in My Brother Nikhil, Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla gave everyone just the right kind of feels!
Bollywood is a treasure trove for feelings and emotions. If you think we missed out on any people like these, comment and let us know!

TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE….@dharmamovies @apoorvamehta18 pic.twitter.com/BQg6SvdFfb
— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) August 9, 2018
Takht is labelled as a historical film which comes after the previous film Padmaavat, that was released earlier this year and caused a stir in the country.
Takht is a historical magnum opus about the Mughal Dynasty, a battle between brothers for the Mughal throne. The lead character is played by Ranveer Singh as Dara Shikoh and Vicky Kaushal as his brother, Aurangazeb. Kareena Kapoor will be starring as their sister Jahanara Begum and Alia Bhatt would be playing the lead love interest.
This film would be the third historical film for Ranveer Singh after Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani that were both blockbuster hits.
Karan Johar is well known for having a famed cast featured in his films, his previous hit Ae Dil Hai Mushkil featured Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
The cast members could not contain their excitement and went on to social media to talk about the film. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt took to Twitter to announce their latest project and Janhvi Kapoor announced it on Instagram.
It was further announced that the screenplay is by Sumit Roy and dialogues by Hussain Haidry and Sumit Roy. It is unexpected for Karan to acknowledge the writers as the “heartbeat and soul of a film.” As writers require more recognition in Bollywood. Varun Grover (lyricist) and Neeraj Ghaywan (director) have been lobbying for writers getting the recognition they deserve by producers for a long time.
The Screenplay is by SUMIT ROY! Dialogues by HUSSAIN HAIDRY,SUMIT ROY! And thanks to @NotSoSnob for bringing these talents to us at @DharmaMovies ! An exciting journey ahead….WRITERS are the heartbeat and soul of a film! These gentlemen lead all the way…. pic.twitter.com/hyTucBmKaG

Bhumi Pednekar shared her excitement regarding the magnum opus “It’s a great honour for me to be working such great actors and to be directed by a veteran. I am a very big Karan Johar fan ever since I was a child. So honestly, it’s very special feeling and it’s still sinking in. I am still dealing with it and I am just so nervous about the film.”
Farah Khan congratulated Karan Johar for the film via a tweet.

Radhika Apte And Her Brilliant Performances To Date
Radhika Apte came to the world of Bollywood like a fiery breath of fresh air at a time when actresses were put in boxes, with no definite direction. As an actress, Apte redefined the world of cinema and proved acting is a skill worked on and mastered over time. Every role this particular lady has taken up more than prove this fact. Still do not believe us? Hopefully this list of some of her best movies to date might just do the trick!
To begin with, Parched as a film portrayed a side of the world not many are comfortable with. It dealt with four women leads navigating through the “parched” and dry desserts of Rajasthan. Apte stole the show with her flawless acting, addressing everything from homosexuality to gender politics like a seasoned actress.
There is a certain sense of longing in the way Apte delivers her dialogues. This aspect was perhaps first noticed in the film, Antaheen. Released in the year 2009, this film spoke about love, heartache, waiting and loneliness, the film brought to light the brilliance of Apte as an actress.
Phobia, a 2016 released horror film, showed us how movies can be scary without having a supernatural element. Apte’s subtle acting brought to the fore the struggles of an agoraphobic woman. With Apte playing the lead role, one can truly feel the fear of being trapped in your own home.
4. Manjhi: The Mountain Man
That this film had not one but two brilliant actors is quite an interesting fact. Both Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte more than make up for all the flaws Manjhi as a film has. The story is inspiring and unique. Gritty and powerful, the film contains likeable characters who speak with quotable dialogues, delivered to perfection by the lead actors! A true testament on Apte’s skills as an actress!
5. Lust Stories
A Netflix original film, Lust Stories is an out and out Radhika Apte film. She is portrayed as the vulnerable teacher, desperate for love and belonging. Even though the other stars in this film are brilliant, Apte steals the show with her raw acting style.
Every role performed by Radhika Apte proves her skills as a brilliant actress. What is your favourite performance by her? Comment and let us know!
Best Bollywood Dance Sequences Ever
As a child from a Tambrahm family, I was forced to learn Bharatnatyam. I hated it of course, with my mind wandering to the forbidden world of Bollywood and Bollywood dances! Just when you thought you knew it all and you could kill it with some amazing moves, Bollywood proved me wrong. Check out these amazing dance moves below!
1. Aplam Chaplam from Azaad
This song is impressive, to say the least. A combination of technique and precision, Aplam Chaplam is the perfect combination of innovation and tradition on the silver screen. On a side note, this is song shows what fusion really looks like! Listen to the song here!
2. Dola Re Dola from Devdas
While Aplam Chaplam was from the 1955, Dola Re Dola is another example of classical dance infused with modern moves. What makes this song so special is the intricate details and attention to the movements in the song. Listen to Dola Re Dola here!
3. Mehbooba Mehbooba from Sholay
Helen, one of the most badass anti heroines of Bollywood, was way past her prime when she performed this particular number. However, age did nothing to stop her from gyrating in a belly dancer’s outfit to this RD Burman track (inspired by a song from Greek singer Demis Roussos.) This song set the tone for future dancers in Bollywood as well! Watch Helen killing it to the tunes here!
4. Radha Kaise Na Jale from Lagaan
From the Oscar nominated film Lagaan, Radha Kaise Na Jale was a true depiction of dance and emotion brought out on to the silver screen! This Gujarati style dance number had the graceful Gracy Singh performing elaborate classical movements in not one, but several long takes. On a side note, it showed us there were other actresses who could dance as well! Watch Gracy Singh groove to the folk tune here!
5. Dhoom Again from Dhoom 2
Okay I know there were a large number of classical songs dominating this list, which is why, this particular song just HAD to be added. Hrithik has joints which stretch and snap like rubber bands. Apart from the massive amount of energy radiating from this song, what makes it so special is this song is a purely male actor led performance! A treat to the tired eyes, for sure! Listen to it here!
I hope these songs took you down the sweet road of nostalgia like it did for me. Comment and let us know if we missed out on any mention worthy dance numbers!
Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor: Match Made in Heaven
They have the kind of love that has not been talked about, but is made for the movie screens. The real life love story of Anil Kapoor and his beautiful wife, Sunita Kapoor.
The Mr. India actor had a rocky start in the Bollywood industry, despite his father Surinder Kapoor, being a Bollywood film producer. Anil Kapoor used to look for jobs during the day and his friends used to help him find love at night.
When he came across Sunita Kapoor, a model, he had no way of getting in contact with her. Eventually, he found her contact number and decided to talk to her.
Upon being asked about how they met Anil Kapoor said: “I met her on the telephone, and fell in love with her voice. I feel shy and awkward when I speak about her, but I love speaking about her. She is wonderful she is beautiful; she is the best thing that has happened to me.”
He added, “Then eventually after speaking to each other for a few weeks, I met her and we became friends.”
The relationship deepened when Sunita and Anil started dating, Sunita would even cancel her modelling photoshoots in order to spend more time with Anil Kapoor. Sunita was an established and successful model. She constantly helped Anil with his career.
It was a rocky road to the ‘happily ever after.’ The couple had to fight for their love. After struggling for a while they managed to convince their parents. The struggle was still not over for the couple they had one more hurdle to cross- the Bollywood industry.
Everybody in the industry advised Anil Kapoor not to marry as his career was at an all-time high after his hit film Mashal (1984), and the marriage would end his career as an actor. In his words, “In those days the industry believed that the audience liked an actor only until he was unmarried. My well-wishers thus advised me not to get married else my career would be ruined. But then I asked myself, what is more, important to me, my relationship with my girlfriend whom I know for years or my career? I was puzzled. But then it struck me that I am in a love with such a beautiful girl and we have been together since 5 years and stuck together through thick and thin, and so marriage was paramount for me that time.”
Despite the obstacles, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor got married on 19 May, 1984.
They are proud parents of three children. Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Sonam Kapoor has been “As children, we got very little family time as dad liked mom to accompany him whenever he travelled. But whenever we did, it was awesome. It feels lovely to see how much he loves her.”
Anil Kapoor was rumoured to be having an affair with his co-star, Madhuri Dixit after their chemistry on screen. Anil laughed out these rumours claiming they were a publicity stunt. “I got a lot of opportunities to fall in love and out of it, as I worked with many beautiful stars, but I thought to myself whether I wanted 2 minutes of joy or a lifetime of happiness. I am extremely happy with Sunita.”
Fairy tales are real after all.
