Nanu Ki Jaanu, Abhay Deol’s next big appearance on the silver screen, is making all the right kind of noise! Despite the talented actor being away from the silver screens for so long, the actor is making a comeback with a bang. The makers of this film just dropped their next song and in just a few minutes, love is brought back to life. As is Abhay Deol (No. Really.)
— TSeries (@TSeries) April 17, 2018
The song, titled Tujhe Dekhi Hai Nazar, is a mushy song featuring Abhay Deol and Patralekha in the lead roles. Penned by Abid Ali and composed by Gunwant Sen, this song has been sung by Mohammad Irfan. Listen to it here.
Directed by Faraz Haider, the movie stars revolves around a mafia man (Abhay Deol) who falls in love with a ghost in his apartment (Patralekha.) Nanu Ki Jaanu is scheduled to hit the screens on 20 April, 2018 and will clash with Omerta. This song shows us love comes in more ways and forms one could have imagined. It does not have to be between two human beings but can be between a human and a ghost as well!
Talk about unique and bizzaire, Nanu Ki Jaanu takes the word quirky to an all new level. The story line, the script and the rendition of the story are told in a completely fun and new manner! With the movie hitting the theaters soon, it stands to see what happens and how love can conquer it all. Definitely worth not just the wait, but the watch as well! Stay tuned for more updates on the movie for as and when we get them.
Bollywood’s Most Doting Fathers To Date
Bollywood is a gold mine full of really talented actors who are not just really good at their day job but at their night job of being really great fathers as well! For most of these men, being a father is a much more hands on and demanding job than being an actor! Check out these fathers who make you feel like penguins on a beach every time!
1. Akshay Kumar
Once the Bad Boy of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is now a doting father of two gorgeous children, Nitara and Aarav. In fact, it is quite a known fact that the man is very protective of his daughter, Nitara and keeps a close check on what she does with her life. On the other hand, his son Aarav is all set to follow his father’s footsteps by entering the world of Bollywood!
2. Shahid Kapoor
That Shahid Kapoor is the ultimate chocolate boy of Bollywood, is a known fact. Be it by breaking hearts when he was in love with Kareena Kapoor or when he became a father for the first time, Shahid Kapoor has proven time and again that he is a father first and then an actor!

3. Shah Rukh Khan
Okay, this is one father all of us love beyond the shadow of a doubt and it goes without saying, his children love him back just as much! In fact, Shah Rukh Khan is rarely ever seen without AbRam. The little Khan loves Papa so much, he can never bear to let go and I think it is the cutest thing ever, is it not?
4. Hrithik Roshan
Despite being the heartthrob of the country (and the rest of the world,) Hrithik Roshan is a . From taking vacations at beautiful locations to spoiling his children rotten, Hrithik Roshan has proven time and again that he is definitely Father of the Year material! Every time I look at his pictures with his sons, my heart goes aw! You know yours does too! In fact, did you know, when Hrithik Roshan got his home redone, he had a special recreation home in place for his children? How sweet is that?

5. Saif Ali Khan
Despite being married to Kareena Kapoor Khan now, Saif Ali Khan still spends as much time as possible with Ibrahim and Sara, his children from his previous marriage! From being a hands on dad to his youngest son Taimur and to being an uber cool dad to Sara and Ibrahim, Saif Ali Khan is the ultimate dad one can hope to have! The Pataudi Khandan is picture perfect, to say the least! Right?
Fathers are really a true gift and as a daughter, I can say without the shadow of a doubt: I am a daddy’s girl through and through! What are your favourite moments with your father? Comment and let us know!
Ranveer Singh’s Journey In Bollywood Through The Years
Ranveer Singh may have been in the industry for less than a decade, but through his choice of films from the very beginning, he has made a mark felt. Despite not having a Godfather in Bollywood, the slightly off the rails and extremely talented actor has managed to keep his ground through thick and thin. One thing the actor does not have? A type! While that may sound like a bad choice of life for most people, Ranveer makes this trait work for him like a charm! Here is taking a look at his presence in Bollywood through the years since he entered!
1. Band Baja Baarat
Making his debut in Bollywood with this very quirky film, Ranveer Singh made everyone fall in love with him and bread pakodas! Playing the role of the typical Delhi ka Chokra, Singh made headlines with his dialogue delivery and style of acting.
2. Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl
A character slightly similar to Ranbir Kapoor’s in Bachna Ae Haseeno, with more than a hint of originality, Ranveer Singh’s second film in Bollywood more than proved his worth as an actor! Definitely one of my favourite Ranveer Singh films to date!
Despite having failed at the box office, Lootera showed a different side to Ranveer Singh as an actor! By playing the perfect con artist, Singh’s character as the eternally misunderstood orphan was perfection at its best.
4. Dil Dhadakne Do
Playing the ultimate spoilt brat in Dil Dhadakne Do, Ranveer Singh made people realise there was more to one’s life than meets the eye. Despite being part of such a star studded film, Singh more than managed to hold his own ground!
5. Bajirao Mastani
Second only to Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl, Bajirao Mastani just has to be my favourite Ranveer Singh film! This film really set Ranveer Singh apart as a truly brilliant actor!
Deriving his strength from Govinda of the 1990s, Ranveer Singh has really made a mark in the years that he has been in the industry. You know our favourite Ranveer Singh movies. What are yours? Comment and let us know!
Anushka Sharma’s Rise In Bollywood Through Her Movies
In an industry horribly dominated by nepotism, Anushka Sharma’s entrance came as a breath of much needed fresh air. When Anushka entered the industry, the audience as well as the filmmakers were looking for something different. She provided the much needed solace in a world that was stagnating. Here is looking at Anushka Sharma’s growth through the years from her first ever movie to the latest one!
1. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
When Anushka made her grand Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, not many thought she could make a mark. However, the moment the film released, everyone realised how wrong they were with this particular judgement. Not only did she create a splash by being spectacularly amazing, she also managed to hold her own! Not bad at all for a debut film!
2. Band Baaja Baarat
From the time Anushka entered the industry, I think this has to be my all time favourite movie. Despite releasing so long ago, this particular film still resonates strongly. Switching seamlessly from the headstrong, career oriented girl to the heartbroken one, Anushka played her role to perfection in Band Baaja Baarat!
There is something to be said about Anushka’s presence in a film, which makes you want to sit up and take notice. This fact is more than apparent in PK, where she plays the role of a journalist opposite Aamir Khan. Despite having such a strong personality as a co star, Anushka still managed to prove her worth as an actress!
Sultan, an extremely important film in Anushka’s career. proved her skills as an actress. Much was said about Aarfa (the wrestler on whom the film was based,) who gave up her career in order to let her husband hog the lime light. However, Anushka broke all expectations by defending Aarfa’s motivation. From the looks of things, this film was tailor made for Anushka specifically.
Progressing from the roles of what was expected of her in the industry, Anushka Sharma not only created waves with her acting skills but her producing skills as well. Not only did this film cement her position as a brilliant actress, it also gave her the push to become a one of a kind producer!
From being part of specific actresses in the industry, Anushka Sharma has managed to carve a niche for herself in the dog and cat world of Bollywood. If you think you have an insight into how some of the actress’ movies pushed her up the ladder, comment and let us know!
Bollywood And The Big Fat Weddings They Have Had
“All the world is a stage,” said William Shakespeare. With over the top clothes, extravagant lifestyles and weddings meant for the silver screens, our Bollywood celebrities definitely agree with the idea. If you still have doubts about how our favourite stars live their lives, then check out their larger than life weddings!
1. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan – Rs. 1 Crore
Not only was their wedding one of the most talked about, it was also one of the most expensive ones at the time. An inter religion wedding with its fair share of ups and downs, this epic love story culminated in a grand affair that came up to a little over Rs. 1 crore. While it does not sound like a lot now, money had a higher valuation back then and the boy, did these two lovebirds make everybody’s head turn! Not a bad affair, at all!
2. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao – Rs. 2 crores
While quite mellow people individually, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao create quite the splash when they are together. From their life to the kind of movies they make, these two are definitely the talk of the town. In fact, one of the reasons Lagaan became the humoungous hit it was was because of the fact Aamir had proposed to Kiran on the sets of the movie! Their Big Fat Indian Wedding moment became all the more grander when the whole wedding cost the stunning pair a little over Rs. 2 crores!
3. Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna – Rs. 3.5 crores
When the ultimate Bad Boy of Bollywood ties the knot, it has to be a huge deal! From chasing around girls around the trees to running around the love of his love (Twinkle Khanna,) Akshay Kumar has to have a grand affair out of everything in his life! He was the white whale and she was the queen of the hour and when Akshay Kumar popped the question, Twinkle Khanna could not refuse! The two tied knot and spent a grand total of Rs. 3.5 crores for their wedding!
4. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Rs. 6 crores
She is the ultimate reigning lady of Bollywood while he is the true legacy holder. When Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came together to make the ultimate commitment, the world had to stop and stare. Despite the grand affair being such an intimate thing, the wedding was definitely extravagant and grand. The wedding came up to a grand total of Rs. 6 crores!
5. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan – Rs. 10 crores
Perhaps one of the most expensive weddings of the year and in all of Bollywood to date, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan tied the knot in the most lavish way possible. A celebration that lasted for over a period of 5 days, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrated their union in a wedding fit for the silver screen! Definitely worth filming, this wedding was!
Weddings are worth celebrating and when they happen with this much pomp and show, one cannot help but keep thinking about it even days after the affair. If you think we missed out on any other weddings that have to be mentioned on this list, comment and let us know!
Bollywood Films Which Show Love Has No Gender
India recently passed a law which said Section 377 is no longer valid and that love no longer has any gender boundaries. Simply put, people who fall in love with those belonging to the same sex are no longer liable to prosecution and can do what their heart desires. While this in itself is a commendable move, it is only fit that we take a look at Bollywood films which showcased love over boundaries long before this act was abolished. Check out these films here!
1. Margarita With A Straw
Margarita With A Straw, directed by Shonali Bose and starring Kalki Koechlin, broke not one but two stereotypes. The film not only explored love between Kalki and her partner, it also showed how it was possible to love despite being diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Bose addressed this issue with subtlety, giving everyone goals like never before.
Aligarh, directed by Hansal Mehta and starring Rajkummar Rao and Manoj Bajpai, addresses the story of how a professor gets suspended from college because of his gender preferences. A representation of the struggles people in the country go through for doing the unexpected, Aligarh is a film that people need to watch to understand the life of the repressed.
3. My Brother Nikhil
My Brother Nikhil, directed by Onir, explores the sexuality of a man and about how he was affected with AIDS. This film explored both these situations at a time when both homosexuality and AIDS were a huge taboo! My Brother Nikhil brought to the fore the struggles of Nikhil and how only his sister helped him through the most difficult times of his life. A must watch for people to realise what happens when others are pushed into a corner.
Deepa Mehta’s Fire addressed two serious issues at the same time: homosexuality and family discord. Both Shabhana Azmi and Nandita Das are stuck in marriages that are not working and in the middle of this imbalance, love starts blossoming. Trouble starts brewing when they want to be together and society goes against this “unholy” union. A bold take on love beyond boundaries, FIre puts forth the troubles one does not expect.
5. Bombay Talkies
Bombay Talkies, a culmination of several stories by several directors, stands out primarily because of one particular story from the film: Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh by Karan Johar. Showing the story of a married couple (Vidya Balan and Randeep Hooda,) this particular story talks about how despite being a part of the media world, people are still averse to the idea of homosexuality. Some even say this is a take on Karan Johar’s personal life and when you watch it, you realise this could actually be the story of an everyday family man!
With India embracing the issue of homosexuality, it is now time for our directors to tell these stories! If you think we missed out on any films like these, comment and let us know!
