3. Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna – Rs. 3.5 crores

She is the ultimate reigning lady of Bollywood while he is the true legacy holder. Shah Rukh Khan And Gauri Khan: A Love Story That Needs Telling
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan: two of the most prolific names in the Bollywood industry, have a love story that makes everyone around them still want to believe in fairy tales. A story worth filming, their love was so strong, it broke several hearts. Without further ado, here is jumping into a story which needs to be told, heard and read!
The first time Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Chibber laid eyes on each other was at a common friend’s party in the year 1984. Only 18 years old, Shah Rukh Khan fell head over heels in love with the 14 year old Gauri. He was so shy at the point, he did not have the courage to ask her for a dance. When he finally went up to her, Gauri took one look at the nervous wreck standing in front of her and said no, as she was waiting for her “boyfriend.”

The news broke the young King Khan’s heart, making him forget about love and happily ever afters. It was only much later when the two were on a sporadic phone call that Gauri told Shah Rukh the truth. She was at the party with her brother and not her boyfriend! Shah Rukh’s heart opened all over again and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Love actually? No. Not quite.
Gauri very quickly fell for Shah Rukh’s wit, charm and easy manner. While the two seemed very happy on the surface, Gauri realised Shah Rukh may seem easy going on the outside, but was really controlling on the inside. SRK would want Gauri to not leave her hair open, would not want her to talk to other men without him being around and other overbearing things like that. SRK’s over possessive attitude got so bad that on the day after her birthday, Gauri disappeared to Bombay with her friends.

When Gauri disappeared, SRK realised he realised he was not only in love with her, he could not live without her. An out and out Bollywood hero, Shah Rukh Khan turned into a real life Devdas. With a mere Rs. 10,000 in his pocket and only the name of the city in mind, Shah Rukh Khan reached Mumbai, desperately in love and hopeful in life. A frantic Shah Rukh searched all over the city, with no real luck. After almost giving up hope, he saw Gauri sitting by herself at a beach. The moment the two saw each other, it was like they had eyes only for each other. That moment, with the sun in their eyes and wind in their hair, the two knew the only thing to do next was to get married.

Religion plays a huge part in every major aspect of life and it did in Gauri’s and Shah Rukh’s marriage as well. While they took the momentous and life changing choice to tie the knot, their parents needed a lot more convincing. One was a Hindu Brahmin and the other was a Muslim, a union between the two religions was just not possible. What would society say? While now it is much more accepted, mixed marriages were considered to be a definite no no at the point. After much to and fro, the parents finally gave in, coming to the understanding that nothing could stop these two from doing what they wanted.

Love Sonia: Five Reasons You HAVE To Watch This Hard Hitting Film
When you watch a serious issue displayed boldly on the silver screen, do you have it in you to turn your eyes? No, right? That is exactly what happens when you watch the trailer of Love Sonia, the latest Rajkummar Rao offering, showing us the dark side of the world through the eyes of human traffickers. Here are five reasons you just have to watch this heart wrenching film when it hits the screens tomorrow.
1. Hollywood and Bollywood collide
Directed by Tabrez Noorani, Love Sonia brings together two drastically different worlds together for a unique film. From Demi Moore to Richa Chaddha to Rajkummar Rao, this film boasts of having some truly brilliant stars to its name! Definitely worth the watch, right?
2. Sai Tamhankar gains ten kgs for the roal
Sai Tamhankar, a critically acclaimed Maharashtrian actress, put in a lot of effort in order to prep for her role in Love Sonia. To make her part seem all the more credible as a prostitute turned pimp, Tamhankar put on a solid ten kgs to seem convincing! If no other reason, this dedication is a major reason to watch the film!
3. The no holes barred script
After Udta Punjab showed us the dark side of Punjab and the under belly of the drug world, Love Sonia brings to the fore the struggles of a family perpetually stuck in the throes of poverty. Ever single member of the cast does justice to their role, playing their part to perfection. The script is so raw, so true that it hits in all the places you need to pay attention.
4. Girls rescued during the shoot
If the above reasons were not enough for you to go watch the film, then this one definitely should make you run to the theaters. During the making of Love Sonia, director Tabrez Noorani used to conduct random raids at suspected brothels in an attempt to rescue girls kept there in captivation. He would pose as a set unit man, conducting his research at brothels and then tip off the police. Through his effort, more than a dozen girls were rescued!
5. Mrunal Thakur went into depression post shoot
There are some roles which take a long time to get over and there are others which just stay with you for the rest of your life. Mrunal Thakur, making her debut in Bollywood with such an intense story, went into severe depression for the longest time. The fact that she chose such a strongly emotional film to make her debut is commendable, to say the least.
Films like Love Sonia do not come by often and when they do, you definitely cannot miss the movie. Right from when you watch the trailer, you realise there is a Sonia in every girl wandering the streets and if that does not make you want go and help the little girl, then maybe, just maybe the film itself will. Do not forget to tell us what you think of this movie when you watch it in the theaters tomorrow!
Celebrities Who Reinvented Themselves For A Role
There are celebrities who act because of their talent and then there are others who put in more than just hard work to bring out their best. These celebrities not only go on extreme diets, they also change their physical appearance to suit a role they were to play. Check out these celebrities who either lost or gained weight to fit their character!
1. Aamir Khan for Dangal
Aamir Khan has proven time and time again that he is a brilliant actor. His dedication to his art is unparalleled and one can see that through the sheer amount of work he puts into his craft. Remember the film Dangal? Aamir gained more than 30 kg to play the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat and boy, did he play the role to perfection!
2. Hrithik Roshan for Krrish 3
Hrithik Roshan more than proved his worth as an actor when he went through not one, but two simultaneous transformations. The man lost weight for his role as a magician in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and within ten weeks, with the help of Kris Gethin, regained all the weight and more for Krrish 3! If that is not dedication, I do not know what else is!
3. Bhumi Pednekar for Dum Laga Ke Haisha
That it is a sexist country, is a known fact. For our actors to lose or gain weight does not signify much, but for an actress, it signifies a lot. Bhumi Pednekar proved her worth as an actress by putting on more weight than necessary for her role in the film Dum Laga Ke Haisha, showing off her dedication in the truest form.
4. Rajkummar Rao for Bose
Rajkummar Rao did not become one of the most sought after actors in the industry for no reason. His hard work and dedication are what propelled him to the first position, especially for the film Bose. What makes this role so memorable is that he gained all the weight despite starving himself for his character in Trapped!
5. Priyanka Chopra for Mary Kom
Remember Priyanka Chopra and the role she played in the film, Gunday? The svelte lady was gorgeous, to say the least and no one can doubt that, right? What surprises everyone is that in the same year, Chopra made a mark by building up a brilliant and strong body for the film Mary Kom. Quite an inspiration, this change!
There is dedication and then there is over whelming obsession. These celebrities proved just that point over and over again. If you think we missed out on any celebrities who just have to be on this list, comment and let us know!
Bollywood Sequels Which Were Way Better Than The Original!
Ever since I started understanding films and stories with sequels, I realised I liked the originals or the initial ones way more than the sequels. As a child, I thought that was because I did not understand the importance or the weight behind the other parts. Growing up, I slowly realised there are certain films which absolutely need a second story to complete the missing picture. Here is a list of sequels which, according to me, are way better than the first part!
1. Dhoom 2
Of course this list begins with Dhoom 2. Unlike its predecessor, this film had a story! It had the bad guy turned good, the lady in love and a cop on a mission! The songs and the script came together in a way the first part did not, giving us all something truly entertaining to watch! Definitely one of my favourite sequels to date!
2. Aashiqui 2
Moving away from the initial storyline of the first part, Aashiqui 2 told the story of love, hope and disappointment perfectly. Even though the film released 20 years after the first part, the plot was strong and resonated deeply with the audience!
3. Tanu Weds Manu Returns
When Tanu Weds Manu released, I thought this film was truly brilliant and that nothing else could make this story stand out more. Tanu Weds Manu Returns came as a breath of much needed fresh air. A new story with a new twist, the makers presented a brand new idea with more than a hint of realism. Definitely worth the wait for the sequel!
4. Housefull 2
Remember the first part in this series? Everyone who watched the film knew it was brilliant and funny to the bone! Then came Housefull 2 and boy, did it make everyone roll around in laughter! As a sequel, it was more than necessary for this film to be made!
5. Lage Raho Munna Bhai
Munna Bhai MBBS, when it released, left everyone wanting for more. Even though there was a seemingly close ending to this film, there was a certain emptiness one felt. Lo and behold, a few years later, the makers understood our troubles and came up with Lage Raho Munna Bhai! Not only was this story way better than the original, it gave us an insight into the life of what could have happened to our Munna Bhai so many years later.
Bollywood has certainly taught us how to love and how to be free. If you think we missed out on any films which have to be mentioned here, comment and let us know!
