Time and time again, real actors have been cast aside for the “stars.” Remember Kangana Ranaut’s comment on nepotism? Scream all they want, our Bollywood stars cannot deny the fact that this is a true and unfair practice still being followed; even in the 21st century! If you still are not convinced, then here are five Bollywood movies which prove just this fact!
1. Prem Ratan Dhan Pao
I am sorry Sonam Kapoor, but you just do not have the acting genes. While you do act a little bit in Neerja, you really disappointed us in movies like Prem Ratan Dhan Pao. We all think Swara Bhaskar, who had the second lead, could have done a much, MUCH better job in this movie! Oh well. What to do. You are a born “star.”
2. Half Girlfriend
Why would one pick Arjun Kapoor, of all people, to play the role of a love lost and life wronged Bihari? Getting the Bihari accent bang on, Vikrant Massey was the ONLY good thing about Mohit Suri’s disastrous film, based on Chetan Bhagat’s equally disastrous book, by the same name. Clearly, the makers went the star way and picked the obvious choice here. Because boo acting.
In Sarbjit, the author backed role went to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It was quite clear from the movie that this part was way too powerful for her to pull off, while Richa Chadda was relegated to a smaller part in the movie. We know what the truth here is though. Nepotism – 1; Real talent – 0!
4. Delhi Belly
Okay. Imran Khan does look, but then again, that is all he does. Vir Das or Kumal Roy Kapoor could have easily pulled off Imran’s role. Interestingly, the two definitely proved their worth considering the fact they did most of the heavy lifting in this movie. Nah. We do not want talent. We want a star in the lead.
5. Bajrangi Bhaijaan
This is one movie where Salman Khan proved he could deliver hits even with a content driven movie. Unfortunately for him, Nawazuddin Siddique could have definitely played the role a better way and still taken it to the 100 crores club. Salman Khan, however, had to be the lead, because apna Bhai hai!
If films like Trapped, Bareily Ki Barfi, Lipstick Under My Burkha and Newton have taught us anything, it is that we, the audience, want to see good actors and not just “stars.” Content is indeed the king of the box office and no matter how big the star, a bad performance just will not make the cut. Ideally, Bollywood should be listening, right? So sit up, listen and take notice of the world that is changing for the better! We know you can do it!

The greeting card left Mahesh Babu deeply impressed as he said he is going to frame it and keep it in his study.
As the interview progressed, the girls asked Mahesh Babu questions about the film, ranging from how the actor felt playing the role of an Army officer to how he felt while shooting for the train sequence and if the actor ever journeyed on a train. Mahesh Babu and the hosts Aadya and Sitara discussed their favourite punch dialogues as well. The interview ended with the hosts quizzing the actor in a rapid fire round and prompting the actor as well to ask the hosts a couple of rapid fire questions.
Star kids are increasingly adopting technology into their lives and are taking to various platforms to showcase their talents. Alia Bhatt has her own YouTube channel named Alia Bhatt and has over a million subscribers while Suhana Khan is learning acting and direction in New York. Suhana Khan also recently acted in her classmates short film titled The Grey Part Of Blue.
The interview already attracted more than 51,000 views since it was released. With the appearance of Mahesh Babu on the channel Aadya & Sitara, there is no doubt the young vloggers will be able to bring more famous guests to appear on their channel as well as keep creating content to which their audience can look forward.

Teachers are the most important people in everyone’s lives. They guide us and motivate us to achieve great things in life. Time and again, Bollywood introduced us to such dedicated teachers, who inspired us, just like our teachers in real life. Here are four such iconic Bollywood teachers.

Landing a job at an elite school, she is given the task to teach the underprivileged kids enrolled at the school. Her dedication to bring change in the lives of these kids, makes her one of the iconic teachers of Bollywood.
4) Anand Kumar in Super 30 (2019)

With an ensemble cast of Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah, Satish Kaushik, Bhakti Barve and Neena Gupta, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro tells the story of two photographers who get entangled in a murder mystery. The Mahabharata scene in the movie is praised by many for its raw humour. The film gained a cult following long after its release.
3) Andaz Apna Apna (1994)
With characters like crime master Gogo and Teja, this movie is a laughter riot from the beginning till the end. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the movie starred Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor in lead roles. 5 Bollywood Actors Who Played Characters Nowhere Their Age
Bollywood is known for its ancient ways of casting much older actors and actresses in younger roles. However, there have been occasions when an actor/actress played a character so convincingly, they made the audience forget their real age with their acting ability.
Here is a list of 5 actors and actresses who played characters nowhere their age and really nailed it.
1)Anupam Kher in Saaransh (1984)
Known for his versatile acting, actor Anupam Kher made his screen debut with Saaransh at the age of 29, in the role of a retired stubborn old man. The movie was about an elderly couple coming to terms with the loss of their only son. As a grieving old man, Anupam Kher was so convincing, it was hard to believe the character was portrayed by a man in his late 20s. Anupam Kher’s performance in the movie won him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
2)Pankaj Kapoor in Kamla Ki Maut (1989)
Released in the year 1989, Kamla Ki Maut is considered one of the most progressive films of Indian cinema. It deals with issues of love and relationships in modern India and starred a 35 year old Pankaj Kapoor as a father of two adult daughters. As a talented actor, Kapoor portrayed the character really well and with raw acting and emotions, managed to breathe life into the role of a father worried about his two daughters.
3)Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Sarbjit (2016)
The rightful diva of Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, at the age of 43, portrayed a 60 year old woman fighting for the release of her brother in Sarbjit. Aishwarya shone as Dalbir Kaur and with a deglamorized look, she captivated audiences with her superb acting. She was praised by critics for giving one of the strongest performances of her career in Sarbjit.
4)Manoj Bajpayee in Aligarh (2016)
Method actor Manoj Bajpayee portrayed the role of professor Ramchandra Siras, a character 15 years older than Bajpayee’s real age. Based on a true story, Bajpayee’s portrayal of a troubled and fragile professor trying to deal with pain and humiliation with dignity, while fighting for equality, is quite memorable.
5)Shweta Tripathi in Haraamkhor (2017)
This bubbly and beautiful actress, who played the role of a young student in Haraamkhor, was 32 when the film was shot. Directed by Shlok Sharma, Haraamkhor starred Shweta Tripathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles. Shweta portrayed the role of a confused, ignored young teenager, who keeps making wrong choices. Her performance was really convincing because of how beautifully she was able to showcase the anguish of a young girl.
It takes a really talented actor to pull off a character nowhere near his/her age. These actors and actresses, through their characters, really proved the extent of their dedication to their craft.
