Shocking Bollywood Breakups, 6 Bollywood Couples Who Broke Up, Bollywood biggest love affairs and breakups, Top 6 Saddest Breakups in Bollywood, Bollywood celebrity breakups, Mango Bollywood, Controversial Bollywood Couples,

When your friends break up, you go through heartache for them because you know they were really adorable together and they helped you believe in true love. However, when a Bollywood couple breaks up, it’s like something in your heart snaps. With the world being all about social media now, Bollywood relationships are brought to the fore like never before. From their first kiss to their first date to their anniversaries, everything is chronicled with very graphic details. The same is done for when these couples break up and when you look at how couples like John Abraham and Bipasha Basu used to be like or at how Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor used to be gaga over each other, you wonder what went wrong. Here’s taking a look at couples who when they broke up, left us with gaping holes in the place where our hearts used to be.

1. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan

Remember when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan came on Koffee With Karan and talked about how each of them had played a significant role in the other’s growth? When you saw that particular episode, did it not want you to believe they would someday end up on the altar, with a big ring on Kareena’s finger? Unfortunately, these words and happy thoughts were short lived. Soon after the episode, the two had a very public break up, breaking not just each other’s hearts, but ours as well!

2. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Shocking Bollywood Breakups, Mango Bollywood

Both of them were perhaps the hottest couple in Bollywood when they were dating. When they were seeing each other in the year 2007, everyone thought they were perfect for each other. Every time they were in public, they looked like they were the only ones in the room and that no one else mattered. However, when they broke up, the ugly truth about their relationship came to light. In fact, what was all the more heartbreaking here was that Ranbir came out and told the press he had cheated on Deepika multiple times and that their relationship was a facade. Now if that isn’t cruel, I do not know what else is!

3. John Abraham and Bipasha Basu

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu, Shocking Bollywood Breakups, Mango Bollywood

He was the hunk everyone wanted a piece of and she was at the peak of her career. When John Abraham and Bipasha Basu were together, their love seemed invincible. When they got together on the sets of Jism in the year 2003, everybody around them thought their union would turn into marriage. However, things were not as perfect as they seemed and the couple parted ways amidst a lot of public furor a decade later. If they had gotten married, imagine how ridiculously good looking their babies would be!

4. Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan

While Bollywood may have seen more than its fair share of married couples drift apart, perhaps the one failed marriage which stung the most was the split between Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan. Despite being married for so long (and blessed with two adorable sons,) the two undeniably good looking people decided to end their relationship. Although the rumours for their split are widespread and many, the real reason has still been kept under wraps. Thankfully, unlike the other divorces and break ups, Hrithik and Sussanne have managed to keep a civil presence when it comes to their public appearances.

5. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif

Ranbir Kapoor, the infamous breaker of hearts, has been the center of more than one bad public break up. When he got together with Katrina Kaif, fans all over thought this relationship would definitely end in a happily forever after. However, despite moving in together and attempting to start a life in that direction, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif parted ways, without really giving people a reason about why they split up. Now, according to the rumour mill, Ranbir Kapoor is dating Alia Bhatt, someone who is Katrina Kaif’s best friend!

6. Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh

She was new to the industry and he had just started making his presence felt in the world of Bollywood. Remember Band Baaja Baaraat and the amazing chemistry Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma shared on screen? While their chemistry was enough to set the screen on fire, it wasn’t enough to keep their off screen romance alive. Now, Ranveer is rumoured to be tying the knot with Deepika Padukone very soon while Anushka Sharma is spending her happily forever after with Virat Kohli! Quite a turn of events, no?

Which couple do you think should have stayed together through the good times and the bad ones? Comment and let us know!

Remember Prithviraj Kapoor, the patriarch of the Kapoor family? Kishore Kumar And A Memory That Lives Through Music

Published

on

Kishore Kumar And A Memory That Lives Through Music, Musical Journey with Kishore Kumar, Hits of Kishore Kumar, Mango Bollywood, Bollywood Evergreen Songs, Remembering Kishore Kumar with his melodious songs, Most amazing songs by Kishore Da, Top 10 Songs of Legendary Singer Kishore Kumar,

Kishore Kumar lef the world on 13th October 1987, marking it as a sad day in the history of Bollywood and music. A day that took away one of the most enigmatic and beautiful singers, 13th October was labelled as the end of an era. When Kishore Kumar passed away, India lost a true gem, making fans all over realise that if music had a name, the name would be Kishore Da. Known for his voice filled with feelings, it is only befitting that one pays tribute to this great man through the melodious music he left behind. As I sit back on this nostalgic Sunday and think of the loss of a singer who touched not only his generation, but several ones after, I would like to leave you with these songs.

1. Yeh Shaam Mastani (Kati Patang, 1971)

Yeah, today’s evening is going to be a beautiful one, but really, remembering the death of this great man is going to put a damper on a beautiful Sunday. If only Kishore Da were still alive, every evening would be a wonderful and memorable one, with new songs and melodies to keep the bad dreams at bay!

2. Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si (Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, 1958)

Hands down one of the most amazing songs by Kishore Kumar, this song has been playing on my mind since the time I woke up this morning! Perhaps the best kind of tribute one can play to Kishore Kumar, either on a rainy day or a sunny day!

3. Dil Kya Kare (Julie, 1975)

Seriously, Dil Kya Kare when you lose someone who has been such an indirect and close part of your life? Nothing more than listen to Kishore Kumar’s music, right? On a side note, every time I break up with a dude (happens more number of times than you can think of,) this song is my go to heart fixer!

4. Maana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin (Paying Guest, 1975)

This song is feels personified. With Kishore Da in his complete element in Maana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin is a Kishore Da song through and through. The song is a perfect description of love that is not entirely two sided and is perhaps the most beautiful ode to being okay with the bad situations as any!

5. Roop Tera Mastana (Aradhana, 1975)

How many times a day have you listened to this song and hummed it over and over? Come on, you know you love this song as much as we do!  Do not cat call pretty girls with this song. Bad idea! You’ll land up in prison and that is never good for anyone, right?

6. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (Blackmail, 1973)

Kishore Da, you may have left the world, but you are always going to be close to our heart. No matter what. Even more so through this song. P.S., if you were ever in the need of a quick fix with the love of your life, this song is the ultimate problem fixer! Trust me, a lot of people I know have used it and it has worked wonders every single time.

7. Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Aayegi Tu (Aradhana, 1969)

Putting into words what every man wants, this song is the perfect ode to finding true love and happily ever afters. Interestingly, in recent times, the songs from Dilwale Dulhaniye Le Jayenge are the only ones that comes close to this beauty! However, Kishore Kumar is the true original genius when it comes to romantic music, right?

As the country mourns the death of a man who would have been 80 if fate had not ended his life early, I am going to kick back, relax and play these songs all day with a cup of hot, strong tea! What is your favourite Kishore Kumar song? Comment and let us know!

Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health

Published

on

Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health, Top 5 Bollywood movies which portray mental illness, Mango Bollywood, Bollywood films based on rare diseases, World Mental Health Day, 5 sensitive Hindi films to watch based on mental issues, Bollywood Movies based on Disorder, Bollywood movies on split personality

Despite India calling itself a progressive country, there is still a stigma attached to the term “mental illness.” Even though people are seeking out counselors and attempting to get help for the disorders they are facing, there is still a large part of the population still living in denial about how there are illnesses beyond what meets the eye. Bollywood, as an industry, is growing in this regard and has made more than just one brilliant film on mental illness. On World Mental Health Day, here is taking a look at movies that brought to the fore the different issues people face and don’t have the courage to talk about!

1. Karthik Calling Karthik

Karthik Calling Karthik, Karthik Calling Karthik Movie Story, Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health, Top 5 Bollywood movies which portray mental illness, Mango Bollywood,

Directed by Vijay Lalwani, Karthik Calling Karthik talks about how people find it difficult to live a normal life when affected by schizophrenia. While this disorder is kept hidden for the better half of the film, the second half highlights the issue with stark and broad strokes of realism. Featuring the lead (Farhan Akhtar as Karthik,) the film shows him calling himself and giving him the hope of normalcy. However, while this is not really a part of the symptoms people with schizophrenia experience, it was still an important effect needed to be told. A bold film on the subject, it brought to the fore the need for accepting people even with all their flaws!

2. My Name is Khan

Karan Johar My Name is Khan, My Name is Khan Movie Story, Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health, Top 5 Bollywood movies which portray mental illness, Mango Bollywood,

Directed by Karan Johar, My Name is Khan was an extremely accurate portrayal of what goes on in the life of a person affected by Asperger’s Syndrome (AS.) Critically and publicly acclaimed for the way Shah Rukh Khan’s character addresses and lives with this disorder, My Name is Khan shows how people with Asperger’s have drastic difficulties in the way they handle social situations, go about their day to day activities and the restricted and repetitive patterns of behaviour followed by them. Addressing the entire spectrum of difficulties faced by people with AS, My Name is Khan was a film needed to be made on the subject, making people sit up and take notice for more than just the three hours of its duration.

3. Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bhool Bhulaiyaa Horror Film, Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health, Top 5 Bollywood movies which portray mental illness, Mango Bollywood,

Bhool Bhulaiyaa, on the front of things, seems like a horror film, but in reality is a movie that deals with dissociative identity disorder. While the film did not really do that well at the box office, it depicted multiple personality disorder to the tee. It talked about how the lead character was facing dissociation from her original self and how she forgot who she really was. A mixture of humour and a serious issue, Bhool Bhulaiyaa needed to be made.

4. Taare Zameen Par

Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan Taare Zameen Par Movie Story, Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health, Top 5 Bollywood movies which portray mental illness, Mango Bollywood,

For the first time ever, a Bollywood film addressed the issue of dyslexia with ease, tact and subtlety. Though dyslexia is categorized under the bracket of learning disabilities, the disorder has a host of mental impacts leading to the overall growth impairment of the person affected. Taare Zameen Par received a lot of praise for the way it addressed the issue and the way Aamir Khan‘s character showed it is okay to be you, despite being afflicted with a disability!

5. Dear Zindagi

Dear Zindagi Movie, Dear Zindagi Latest Bollywood Movie, Bollywood Films That Talk About Mental Health, Top 5 Bollywood movies which portray mental illness, Mango Bollywood, Bollywood films based on rare diseases,

How many times have you grown up and felt like the life you have had is not the life you were meant to lead? How many times have you had troubles accepting your adult life because of your traumatic childhood? Living in denial is what Dear Zindagi explores. The movie looks at what happens when you disregard the importance of acceptance and if you don’t get the treatment you need to lead a healthy and happy life .

Issues affecting mental health are not a matter to be brushed off without a second glance. Talk about what you are going through, get the help you need and accept that even if things do not seem rosy on the outside, there is a way you can fix the scales of balance!

Naseeruddin Shah And Ratna Pathak Shah: A Love Story Worth Filming

She is the ultimate liberal woman and he is the ultimate fighter for equality. Raising their voice for equality, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah have proved us time and time again that their love is one worth being portrayed in a movie.

The beginning

featured, Love stories of famous Bollywood couples, Mango Bollywood, Naseeruddin and Ratna Pathak Shah Biopic Movie, Naseeruddin and Ratna Pathak Shah Story, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Movies, Naseeruddin Shah And Ratna Pathak Shah – A Love Story Worth Filming, Ratna Pathak Shah and Naseeruddin Shah Marriage

Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah first met each other in 1975, when Ratna was a student at college and Naseer was a brand new graduate (from the Films and Television Institute of India.) When they were first thrown together, the two were working on a play called Sambhog Se Sanyas Tak. It was attraction like never before and when the two laid eyes on each other, they knew their union was but a design by fate. Like Ratna herself said,  “One day we were not even friends; the next day we were going out together.”

When Naseer and Ratna met, Naseer was recovering from a really bad divorce. Ratna was like a much needed breath of fresh air for him and through all the months of rehearsing, he realised he had fallen head over heels for her! Society, of course, had its concerns. The age gap, the different religions and the fact Naseer already had a failed marriage to his name. However, instead of pulling them apart, these issues brought them closer together.

The not so grand wedding

Sticking to true Naseer and Ratna style, their wedding was a quiet and understated event. The two had a court marriage, with only their close friends witnessing the ceremony. While the wedding didn’t make it to the top ten most glamorous and expensive weddings, it was a really special one, seeing as theirs was perhaps one of the first celebrity weddings where the bride and groom enjoyed as much as the guests!

One of the reasons their marriage is so special, is that their story is one of equals. Despite how things turned out with his first wife, Naseer’s daughter (Heeba Shah) from his first marriage shares a wonderful relationship with Ratna and his two sons from this marriage! Both of these wonderful actors and people have learnt a great deal from their past and have lived their life together with love and never ending happiness!

From never giving in to social pressures of any kind to doing exactly as they thought right, Ratna Pathak Shah and Naseeruddin Shah are the perfect description of a couple always in love! This excerpt from a recent interview of theirs is a true reflection of their relationship, with Ratna saying, “Today, girls are doing Karva Chauth! C’mon, that’s what we fought against,” and Naseer adding, “Today, girls as young as two are wearing hijabs. Muslim boys are growing beards claiming it’s a sense of identity.” Today, we hope their fight for a equal and more liberated style of life is always on, giving everyone around couple goals never before! To end this on a beautiful note, here’s what Naseer stated about Ratna in his autobiography And Then One Day.
