Bollywood does everything in twos. Two stories, two dramas, two lives and two roles! From Varun Dhawan in Judwaa 2 to Salman Khan in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, our favourite Bollywood stars have given twice the amount of fun and action in their movies. Today, we look at movies that have blown us over with the amazing double roles in them!

1. Judwaa 2

We know for a fact that the first part of the Judwaa series was amazing, which is why a second part had to be made. Varun Dhawan gets quite close to Salman Khan’s characters in Judwaa 2 by playing the double roles of Raja and Prem. One is the kidnapped son of a gangster while the other is the son of a wealthy businessman. Both the performances are fun and inspired. The movie is worth a watch for sure!

2. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

Salman Khan’s role as Prem in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was his return to the screen as the Prem loved by his massive fan following. The role he plays as Vivek, the sick Prince, was made as an offering to the fans he got after the success that Wanted was. This Sooraj Barjatya movie had a little in it for everyone, with more than enough of Salman Khan to go around for a happily ever after.

3. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai

Only a few actors are as lucky as Hrithik Roshan to have a dual role in their very first movie. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was Hrithik’s first movie in Bollywood and boy. Did he make a mark! Not only was this movie instantly declared a blockbuster, but we saw how versatile an actor Hrithik could be by playing the roles of Raj and Chopra and Rohit! One was a dancer and the other was a singer. Two birds, one stone. What’s not to love?!

4. Kaminey

Kaminey was Bollywood’s chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor’s career turning blockbuster. Through this movie, Shahid surprised everyone by showing us that he was NOT the supremely cute, good boy that we had been used to seeing him as. In Kaminey, Shahid played the role of a good boy AND a bad boy! Uff. Who knew double roles could be this entertaining?

5. Love Aaj Kal

Saif Ali Khan already plays a double role in real life. Not only is he a brilliant actor but is also a Nawab in real life! Saif is a King on screen and off screen! While he plays the eternal bad boy in most of his films, the movie Love Aaj Kal showed us not one, but two different sides to him. The movie showed Saif as a modern day jilted lover and one who fought for his love. Hmm. Didn’t think that could happen!

These may have been our current day dual roles but some of our iconic movies have had some brilliant double roles like Seeta Aur Geeta, Sharmilee and Aankhen. Vote and let us know which movie is your favourite, maybe?

Namaste England Review

Namaste England Review,Namaste England First Day Box Office Expectations,Namaste England Movie Review,Namaste England First Day Box Office Collections,Namaste England First Day Collections,Namaste England Rating,Namaste England Movie Rating,Namaste England Review and Rating,Namaste England 1st Day Collections

Cast: Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Alankrita Sahai

Director: Vipul Amrutlal Shah

Story

Set against the varying backdrops of Punjab and London, Namaste England tells the story of how Param (Arjun Kapoor) and Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) meet and instantly fall in love. With more than a justified dose of drama, the film sees the evolving journey of love between Param and Jasmeet, a relationship which sees marriage on the cards in the very near future.

However, despite agreeing to get married, neither of them foresee the possibility of both of them not living in the same country together. As the wedding date draws closer, Jasmeet tells Param of her intention of pursuing her future in London. Playing the role of the love struck boyfriend to perfection, Param decides the place is not important as long as he is with his lady love and makes the bold choice to cross borders with Jasmeet.

Just when you think everything is going to be happy and rosy with Param and Jasmeet, London doesn’t see Param as a suitable resident and promptly rejects his visa (Jasmeet, of course, gets hers.) What follows next is the struggle the two love birds face to get to their happily ever after, with both of them trying everything in their power to make their union a happy and joyous one.

Review

While it is a really good thing to see Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor back on the silver screen together after a long gap (Ishaqzaade was the last film they were in together,) Namaste England just does not live up to the expectations. Despite being shot in exquisite locations and having music that will certainly make you get up and dance, this movie just fails to hit the nail on the head.

The message the makers and the cast are trying to make is quite obvious. This film is about how a man wants to follow a girl and help her make her dreams come true, not the other way around. Unfortunately, what does not work for this Vipul Amrutlal Shah directorial is the fact the script and the story were written with minimal effort. To turn a great idea into a great film requires considerable work and this is something the makers of Namaste England completely missed.

All in all, Namaste England makes for a one time watch. What works for this Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor starrer is the strong nostalgic factor, taking one down the road of Ishaqzaade. At the end of the day, the only strong suit of Namaste England is the beautiful chemistry between the two leads and its catchy music!

Vashmalle, the first song from Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated film, Thugs of Hindostan, just dropped. From the looks of things, this song is just as exciting as the trailer. One of the most exciting movies releasing next year, this particular film has a lot of things going for it, a factor made all the more enticing with this song. From the script to the cast, everything about this movie is keeping people gripped to the edge of their seat with bated breaths.

The just dropped song, titled Vashmalle, has been sung by the highly talented singer duo of Ajay and Atul, with lyrics given by Amitabh Bhattacharya and choreography by the brilliant dancer, Prabhudeva! While the song is foot tapping, what makes it all the more special is the fact it sees Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan come together on the silver screen for the first time ever! Listen to the song here and NOW.

With a setting surrounding the theme of friendship and camaraderie, the song is a true joy fest through and through. Quite like the trailer, the first song reminds one of the intense fight scenes between Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa from the film Pirates of the Caribbean! This particular Yash Raj Films production has an impressive cast to its name. Apart from Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, Thugs of Hindostan also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh in pivotal roles.

“It is amazing that we could write a suitable moment in the film that sees these two icons of Indian cinema shake a leg with each other and the song will stand out because of their infectious energy and camaraderie. The song presents Mr. Bachchan and Aamir Khan in the mood to celebrate. I have to reveal that the sequence will show them getting drunk during the celebrations and then breaking out to dance on this high energy number. It is a priceless moment that we have captured in Thugs of Hindostan,” director Vijay Krishna Acharya said while talking about the film previously. Thugs of Hindostan is scheduled to hit the screens sometime next year, so stay tuned for the release date!

Akshay Kumar, the original Khiladi of Bollywood, is or rather was, quite the player! Before he met and fell in love with Twinkle Khanna, the man was a very different person. From being a very adorably notorious child to being one of the most good looking hunks in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has done and been through a lot in life. Check out these unknown facts about the Khiladi of Bollywood here!

1. The real name

Did you know Akshay Kumar’s birth name was not really the name he goes by now? When he was born, he was named Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia and only changed his name when he entered the Bollywood industry. In fact, people close to him still call him Raju and not Akshay!

2. Won a Filmfare Award only TWICE

While all the other actors around him won more than one award for the best actor, Akshay Kumar has only won the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor twice in his career. The first time was for his brilliant performance as the Best Actor in a Negative Role in Ajnabee and the second time was for his amazing performance as the Best Actor in a Comic Role in Garam Masala.

3. The name Khiladi was NOT an accident

While Akshay Kumar’s competition were called King Khan and Badshah, the name Khiladi did not come to this particular dude by accident. It was only after he worked in eight films (Khiladi. Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, International Khiladi, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, Khiladi 420 and Khiladi 786) with the name in the title did it stick to him and become his pseudonym of sorts!

4. Stole watches for fun

While a lot of people have pet peeves, not many are open about their trysts with the law. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, is someone who just does not care. The man has admitted to stealing watches from shopping malls when he was younger just to get the kick out of stealing things and getting away with the crime! Sticky fingers much?

5. Not an Indian citizen

Just when you thought Akshay Kumar’s life could not get more interesting, it did. The Khiladi of Bollywood got himself a Canadian citizenship. However, with the Indian law being the way it is, he could not hold more than one citizenship at a time. Breaking the hearts of his Indian fans with one swift blow, he let go of the citizenship of the country he was born in and is now a full time citizen of Canada.

6. Played the same named character 8 times

If you think names like Raj and Vijay were only associated with characters played by Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh Khan, think again! Did you know Akshay Kumar has played characters with the name Vijay 8 times and the name Raj 7 times on the silver screen? Who would have thought, right?

7. He played the role of a cop 13 times

Although Akshay Kumar has been typecast as the ultimate lover boy on screen, his real talent as an actor lies in the characters he played as a cop! Just like his on screen dad Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar has played this particular character over ten times in films like Kayda Kanoon, Mohra, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Paandav, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Tu Chor Main Sipahi, Insaaf, Daava, Tarazu, Angaaray, Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahi, Khakee, Police Force: An Inside Story and Aan: Men at Work.

Akshay Kumar is quite the character and more than certainly stands apart from the other contemporaries of Bollywood. If you think we missed out on any facts about Akshay Kumar, comment and let us know!

Kishore Kumar And A Memory That Lives Through Music, Musical Journey with Kishore Kumar, Hits of Kishore Kumar, Mango Bollywood, Bollywood Evergreen Songs, Remembering Kishore Kumar with his melodious songs, Most amazing songs by Kishore Da, Top 10 Songs of Legendary Singer Kishore Kumar,

Kishore Kumar lef the world on 13th October 1987, marking it as a sad day in the history of Bollywood and music. A day that took away one of the most enigmatic and beautiful singers, 13th October was labelled as the end of an era. When Kishore Kumar passed away, India lost a true gem, making fans all over realise that if music had a name, the name would be Kishore Da. Known for his voice filled with feelings, it is only befitting that one pays tribute to this great man through the melodious music he left behind. As I sit back on this nostalgic Sunday and think of the loss of a singer who touched not only his generation, but several ones after, I would like to leave you with these songs.

1. Yeh Shaam Mastani (Kati Patang, 1971)

Yeah, today’s evening is going to be a beautiful one, but really, remembering the death of this great man is going to put a damper on a beautiful Sunday. If only Kishore Da were still alive, every evening would be a wonderful and memorable one, with new songs and melodies to keep the bad dreams at bay!

2. Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si (Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, 1958)

Hands down one of the most amazing songs by Kishore Kumar, this song has been playing on my mind since the time I woke up this morning! Perhaps the best kind of tribute one can play to Kishore Kumar, either on a rainy day or a sunny day!

3. Dil Kya Kare (Julie, 1975)

Seriously, Dil Kya Kare when you lose someone who has been such an indirect and close part of your life? Nothing more than listen to Kishore Kumar’s music, right? On a side note, every time I break up with a dude (happens more number of times than you can think of,) this song is my go to heart fixer!

4. Maana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin (Paying Guest, 1975)

This song is feels personified. With Kishore Da in his complete element in Maana Janab Ne Pukara Nahin is a Kishore Da song through and through. The song is a perfect description of love that is not entirely two sided and is perhaps the most beautiful ode to being okay with the bad situations as any!

5. Roop Tera Mastana (Aradhana, 1975)

How many times a day have you listened to this song and hummed it over and over? Come on, you know you love this song as much as we do!  Do not cat call pretty girls with this song. Bad idea! You’ll land up in prison and that is never good for anyone, right?

6. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (Blackmail, 1973)

Kishore Da, you may have left the world, but you are always going to be close to our heart. No matter what. Even more so through this song. P.S., if you were ever in the need of a quick fix with the love of your life, this song is the ultimate problem fixer! Trust me, a lot of people I know have used it and it has worked wonders every single time.

7. Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Aayegi Tu (Aradhana, 1969)

Putting into words what every man wants, this song is the perfect ode to finding true love and happily ever afters. Interestingly, in recent times, the songs from Dilwale Dulhaniye Le Jayenge are the only ones that comes close to this beauty! However, Kishore Kumar is the true original genius when it comes to romantic music, right?

As the country mourns the death of a man who would have been 80 if fate had not ended his life early, I am going to kick back, relax and play these songs all day with a cup of hot, strong tea! What is your favourite Kishore Kumar song? Comment and let us know!
