Fukrey Returns. You Have To Watch It Tomorrow!

Dark comedy and witty repartee is what seems to be missing from a lot of our Bollywood movies. In the midst of all the controversy surrounding Padmavati, Fukrey Returns comes at the perfect time. We need a reason to actually go and watch a movie and today, we give you not one, but five reasons to watch the much awaited sequel to Fukrey.

a) Just the fact that its a sequel

The first part of Fukrey series was a runaway question. No doubt about that. The Fukrey gang got one thing right, they left us in splits throughout the movie. The first part released in 2013 and four years later, the second part is definitely worth the wait. Now, coming back after four years with the same director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and with pretty much the same cast, Fukrey Returns picks up right where Fukrey left.

b) A continuous comic relief

The past year has been a confusing one. While Judwaa 2 and Golmaal Again have provided the much needed comic relief our Bollywood films have been missing, Fukrey Returns provides entertainment at another level. Also, worth considering is the fact that both of them are sequels/remakes. Looks like the time is favourable for Fukrey Returns. Right?

c) A strange cast

Unlike Golmaal Again and Judwaa 2, Fukrey Returns has an ensemble cast. With Richa Chada, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Priya Anand, Vishakha Singh and Pankaj Tripathi all reprising their funny roles, Fukrey Returns looks like a promising watch.

d) The characters themselves

Fukrey Returns is not just about the comic relief. It is also about the unique characterisation of each and every one of the different people in the movie. Not just because of the actors’ fantastic portrayal but because of Mrigdeep’s interesting screenplay. Their powerful one-liners and funny antics are already making the internet go gaga over the film’s release.

e) Deja Choo

Fukrey had some interesting words and terms thrown around throughout the movie. The words were interesting and used in a subtle manner, without being too over the top. Remember jugaad? The word actually made it to the Oxfor dictionary! Now, Fukrey Returns has another word that is doing the rounds – Deja Choo! Talk about interesting word play!
