Padmavati To Have A Special Screening For Activists

As the much talked about movie Padmavati, nears the date of its much awaited release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced a special screening for the people protesting the release of the movie.

Rajasthan based Hindu activists have been protesting the release of Padmavati ever since the movie was first announced. From vandalism, to assault, to ripping posters into shreds, these groups have gone out of their way to show their anger forward the movie.

Rumour is Padmavati features a dream sequence between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who play Alauddin Khilji and Queen Padmavati respectively. The sequence features a romantic scene between Queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji. Activists are protesting this sequence as it is a clear violation of historical facts.

For a long time now, these groups have been demanding a special screening and it looks like Bhansali is finally agreeing to their demands. One of the producers of Padmavati, Viocom 18, came out with a statement they are going to arrange a special screening to clarify all the negativity surrounding the film.

This move will hopefully get the protestors to back off so we can all witness a world that was only dreamt of and spoken about. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Padmavati is co produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment and is slated to hit the silver screens by 1 December, 2017!
