Saif Ali Khan is touted to be one the most versatile actors the Bollywood Industry has seen yet. His movies have always had a little whimsy backed by some solid acting. Chef, directed by Raja Krishna Menon and released on the 6th of October, was supposed to be Saif Ali Khan’s big comeback movie. However, the movie has been one of the biggest let downs yet.
The movie released country wide and saw a very poor turn out indeed. Chef made a measly turn over of Rs. 1.05 crores on the first day and only Rs. 1.35 crores on the second day. Throughout the weekend, Chef has only seen a turnover of Rs. 2.40 crores, while movies like Newton and Haseena Parkar have made Rs. 18.92 crores and Rs. 10.60 crores respectively.
Saif’s performance is a sure let down as the character he plays in this movie is in his comfort zone. He has played roles like this in the past in movies like Hum Tum, Love Aaj Kal and Dil Chahta Hai. The actor seems to have been on a bad streak lately and Chef has just made matters worse. The movie has been one of the most disappointing one for the month of October yet. One can only hope Saif Ali Khan picks his next movie with great consideration and deliberation. We certainly don’t want to see the actor go down without a struggle!
