Kangana Ranaut is back with Hansal Mehta’s Simran. After creating a storm with her controversial statements before the release of Mehta’s highly anticipated film, Kangana received huge appreciation for her role in the film.
Simran finally hit the screens on Friday. But unlike Kangana’s last few films, simran hasn’t been able to grab the audiences at the box office. Simran collected only Rs. 6.53 crore in the first two days of its release.
Now the film saw an upward graph during the weekend. Sunday‘s collections were the highest so far with Rs. 3.65 crore. Whereas the film opened with a decent response of Rs 2.43 crore followed by Rs 3.40 crore on Saturday and the total collection now stands at Rs. 9.48 crores approximately.
However, going by Kangana’s last few films, Simran still has to go on a very long way in terms of box office collections.
The movie is based on the real life story of the Bombshell Bandit, Sandeep Kaur. The film revolves around a housekeeper, who gets involved in a heinous crime while working in the United States. We also see Kangana stepping into Sandeep’s shoes, who is from Gujarat in the film.
Despite not having so strong a story line, Kangana has got huge appreciation from the critics for her stellar performance.
