“M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” is a Bollywood documentary style, movie directed by Neeraj Pandey, about the life and times of the Indian Cricketer, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

”M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” is about M.S. Dhoni and his life– most of us know him as a cricketer yet not everyone knows him as ticket collector in the Railway Department. The movie title itself says it is about M.S. Dhoni and the caption says ‘The man you know, The journey you don’t.‘ The movie has an exceptionally enthusiastic and rousing story, Sushant Singh plays the lead character while Kiara Advani plays the  spouse of Dhoni and Disha Patani plays the character of Dhoni’s ex-girlfriend. Actress Bhumika Chawla who is seen after a long gap in the film industry, plays Dhoni’s sister. Furthermore, the movie also features Herry Tangri and Fawad Khan in the roles of Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli respectively.

The movie presents M.S. Dhoni as a goalkeeper in his school days and his family headed by a conformist father, played by Anupam Kher, wants Dhoni to get a steady job as opposed to pursuing athletic interests. Dhoni chooses cricket and turns into a district player. His bosom friends take pride in Dhoni’s cricketing and his school mentor guiding Mahendra, makes up  the 1st half of the movie totally convincing. The 2nd half makes up the rest of the life struggle– his profession as a full time cricketer, the good times and bad and his love story.

What’s Good:

* Outstanding direction by Neeraj Pandey.

* Sushant Singh Rajput steals the show!

* Good acting by all supporting actors.

* DishaPatani and KiaraAdvani also gave mind blowing performances.

* Music is Soulful

What’s Bad:

* The 2nd half drags a huge portion of the story that lets this biopic down. In a perfect world, his innings as the Captain of the Indian Cricket team ought to have been highlighted more.

Final Review: ”M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story”, is an enthusiastic film that highlights the account of M.S. Dhoni, how he transformed from a ticket collector in an Indian rail station to one of the world’s best batsmen and skipper. Give this film a shot for Rajput and the strong backing that the supporting cast gives him. It is a story that everybody should see, and hits the right spot. We at would rate 4.5/5 stars.
